Welcome to Fetch and Cutitude Book book Podcast. I'm Melissa and I'm Elise. This show is about two very best friends who love books but also love talking about life occurrences. Join us for the girl talk. It'll get real, it'll get fun, it'll get interesting. Sit down, buckle up, and. Let us talk to you about all the things. Welcome to this week's episode. We missed you. I am much louder right now, and we love that for me. Well, I mean, hypothetically, we think you're louder. I specifically am a little bit audio blind to you. Sure I fucking hate you? Oh, hopefully, hopefully. We're like slowly working on Alissa's shoving the microphone down her throats. Pretty much how it has to be. I am right up on top of it. We had to take the spongy piece off. I don't even know, but we're here. I'm dying. But speaking of Alyssa's mishaps, Jesus Christ, I am gonna bring this up. I am gonna bring it up again, because you're never gonna live this down now. So we sat down to record tonight after working together on the computer to figure out our TikTok situation. We got that figured out. We do have a TikTok up and running. We are gonna we are going to record a TikTok tonight. Okay, you are our social media manager. I just live here. I don't even live here, I just visit here. I don't know what you want from me. I can't. I also had a beverage before we started recording. Yeah, and Alyssa is currently drinking a beverage. Oh she's on number two. Oh it's fine, we'll see. Funny story. While we were working on trying to figure out why it wasn't recording yeah, because Yeah, all of. A sudden, at least says her daughter's name. I was like, what is she yelling? And then I turned and she was right next to me and I literally jumped out this she the shit out. The worst part about that, though, that whole situation was that she. Was just standing there looking at you, and I'm like, okay, but then you figured out she was there, and as soon as you jumped. She started giggling. She did it on purpose. She's a menace. I wonder where she gets from. So anyways, we've been we've been stuck in my closet again because it seems to work for the time being. But after so, while we were figuring out the TikTok situation, Alyssa was like, oh, we'll just like mute it so you don't hear the tiktoks right now while we're trying to figure stuff out out, Well, she went to mute my computer and instead of muting it, she like muted the microphone input to my computer. So I've been sitting here for a good while. It's been an hour. No, it hasn't. Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm not sorry. You know what. I am not sorry you did this. I didn't mean to do this. I was trying to be helpful, but obviously we know how helpful I am. So whatever. So anyways, I'm today. Yeah, we're on a time crunch. I just spent an hour trying to figure out this stupid audio. I am not a vocalist audio like technology guru. Here, okay, Annie, you who's it? This week we are talking about our book The Corey Girls, up to chapter twenty one. I have some choice words about that. This week same we are also going to be talking about February updates. Because it is now February. We are currently record on the first it is my birthday month. We also have some questions. Melissa has a good question that she wants to ask this week, and if we have time, we could do another question from the Jar, because that seemed to be really fun and well accepted from some of our listeners. So, but yeah, we are going to get a TikTok up hopefully this week. Hopefully hopefully. So I guess let's get into it. So the book background for this week. Monday, I get a message from Melissa telling me, Hey, you're not gonna like these next few chapters. Guess what I did on my lunch break. I read all five chapters on my lunch break, and I'm telling you what. I did not like it. You are all. You are right. I did not like it. I knew you weren't gonna like it. Spoilers coming up? Just hard, yeah, oh, ew yep, you just you. I mean, at this point, really nothing has happened physically other than with Beth Well Anne, Maureen. I guess yeah, but ew I knew we got creepy vibes off of Ed. We kind of both had that from the beginning. That's how he's supposed to be written. But I'm sorry. The main character, Heather, her sister is twelve. Do not be calling a twelve year old a pretty little lady like I'm sorry, no, thank you. And then honestly trying to bribe her to come back to the fair so he can purchase her what was it cotton candy or a corn dog or something. No, it was cotton candy at first, and she said I don't like connon candy. I'd rather have a corn dog. And he giggled at that gross and then then said he would buy her a corn dog. And she didn't end up going right, and she was mad, but I would. Just wishugh, I doesn't wish that she understood. And I know she is too young. I get it, but that's my god, that's what makes me have the huge IX YEP, huge X absolutely and everything going on now we kind of saw some well I kind of saw some of it coming. At this point, Maureen is missing that I could have seen coming. Do I think it's the carnie worker, Yes, see, I don't really I don't think so. Do you think it's Ed No, I think it's the sheriff. Oh you think it's the sheriff. Yes, we kind of did talk about that that is, you know, and there's a whole ring going around. There's also some like I really do. I have a hypothesis that this town is like very much because they're a close knit town. I'm really starting to wonder if several of the parents are either swingers or if there's a bunch of just cheating going on, because I think that's why Heather's mother hasn't left the house. I don't believe that Heather's sister is her father's Yes. My hypothesis there is that Heather's sister is Maureen's sister as well. Yes, And because Heather's mother and Maureen's mother used to be very close and they both sort of went into a depression kind of around the same time. Yes, And it's even mentioned it was kind of before Heather's sister was around, right. I do believe that there is a little cheating or their swingers, but I. Also believe, Yes, my hypothesis is a sheriff, but I believe that there is a lot of people playing together. And while I don't believe Heather's. Dad, who is the DA, is one of them, I do believe that the person who came in to help investigate might already know about it, and that's why he's kind of tiptoeing around caring. So I actually do think that Heather's father is involved. And the only reason why I say that is because Heather has been trying to find whoever has the golden wristband. She has not found it yet. But she also doesn't see a lot of her father like she does but snippets of him, and it's not like she's focusing on him. And I'm really worried that he was the one with the golden cuff. I thought that, But also I feel like she mentions that there's a lot of people on that street that she doesn't know, and it's a lot of like adults without children mm hmm. And I'm worried that they're kind of the. Social pariahs that's why they're there. Yeah, I mean, it totally could be deeper than what I'm saying, but I don't. I think it's a little bit creepy to me that Heather's father knows that their mother is not doing well and hasn't been mentally well for a while. But yet I know he's got his job as the DA I get that, but at the same time, he's so busy that he just doesn't come home some nights. I don't know if he's not coming home or if he's just not sleeping at bed with his wife, because she does mention seeing him come out of his den, and he tries to cover it. Up, right, which I don't know. I think think a lot of it is a cover up to I think, if anything, if Heather's father has something to do with it, I think he's covering up. If it's the sheriff, he's covering up the sheriff's involvement, if anything. Yeah, I also got that feeling. I think we're gonna find that it goes way deeper than we're expecting it to. I'm so nervous for the next five chapters, but I will probably end up reading them tonight. And I'm not going to lie. I still have a weird gut feeling about the priest not gonna lie. Oh yes, because that's how the last chapter ended. Actually, was that cloudy and Heather got selected this year to go to the summer camp where it's a fall retreat this time or something like that, and Heather's. Dad is pushing it hard. Also says it's a really good thing. It's almost like grooming. Yep, like the entire town is grooming these kids to make it acceptable, even the males. I'm wondering if, like, was it ever mentioned if Ricky went with because it mentions Maureen and uh Brenda, yep, it mentions them going, but it doesn't mention like Ricky going or Aunt going. I'm wondering if it has only been females up to this point, and now that Ed is a great cover, I'm going to start making it more. I don't know. This is just my hypothesis because I feel like they want to blame a lot on Ed because he is just convenient. My other thought on this, and this is just me like true crime background. I've also been getting way too much into true crimes lately. It's terrible. But I'm really wondering if Ed is related to somebody in town, because why else would he be in town? And two, if he's like a ringleader, like we've talked kind of chatted about this, a ringleader for the guys specifically, and it I mean, could he maybe be the related to the priest? Do you want my hot take? Oh? God? I think him in the sheriff were brothers. That very well could be I don't know, or it could be his son, because I think the sheriff is a lot older. I think that they're brothers, or they were in a very similar situation as children, or ED was in a situation with the sheriff. Either way, your your hypothesis is that the sheriff and ED have something going on. Yeah, absolutely, Okay, I think that's fair. So I guess that kind of for me. Just a very brief sniffet snippet, sniff it. Buck, sniff it. It's like a scratch and sniff. Okay, here's my question. Are you ready? No? But yeah, love it. It's short and sweet. Okay. Do you prefer book covers with images on the front or book covers with typography on the front. Ah, I think it really depends. I think it really does depend. I guess maybe I like more with images because I think that And this is coming from a business perspective, like I took several business classes in college. If you want somebody to pick up something that you trying to sell, you need to market that. And a book's best marketing tool is their front cover. People pick up books and will determine whether or not, they are going to take that book home with them sometimes or look into it further by the cover exactly. Also, I'm a sucker for a sprain edge. And even if I look at the book and I'm like, I don't really like those cover, but look at the spray edges. I'm it's so pretty. Yeah, I'm so sold. I do have a few books that have just the typography, but most of the books that I have that are just typography are older classical books. So again, we live in a different generation now, where again the marketing comes into play. You can't just sell a book based on what its title is, right, Like, I know one of the typography books that I have is the Robinson Crusoe. Yeah, and because people know that title, they're going to pick that book up. I mean, hence why I picked it up because I was like, hey, I know what that is. People aren't going to know what ueen two Kings. That could be several different things. Yeah. I have a book on my list and the cover the only cover they have, because you know how sometimes books have multiple covers, even like out of the US it is one cover, and it's on my too Bey read list, It's on I would love to purchase it one day. It's only typography, but the way that I crave reading this book because I just looked so good, because I've I've only heard snippets about it, and the snippets about it suck me in. Which book is I'll have to find it to show you. I know, we should make a link tree eventually. You know. That was the one thing that I did notice about us. When we chat and record, we talk about the what ifs and like we should do this, and we should do that, and I'm like, yeah, let's do that eventually. Just so many, so many ideas running through our minds. It's kind of hard to base it off one. So was that was your question for the week? That's my question to you for the week. I like that, And that's just I would rather know for my own preference, I would like to have. A picture something something. It doesn't even have to be like a picture picture. Like I can tell you that the majority of the books that I read do have a nice little model on the front, but you have plenty that don't necessarily have anything to do with like the book per se. It's just like, I mean, I don't know, I'm really trying to think hard about any of the books that I have that don't have something on the cover, Like I guess there are minimalistic covers, like look at the Akatar books. Yeah, they just have like the first one is the Wolf with an Arrow in it and that does have some significance to the book, but very minimalistic, but it's still an image. So mine is James Oh the book. Yeah. And then also Ruth Ware has a few that are just typography. I mean they're colorful, but their typography right. Well, that's what I'm saying, is like the art itself, like of the Yeah, yeah. I've just heard such good things about it that I want to read it, and I have to tell you it probably will stay on my list for a while because as much as I want to read it, it doesn't pull me in. Like the book I'm reading now has a picture on the front and there's pictures throughout it. My books don't have to have pictures throughout them. Yeah, but knowing that that's coming and I get to see a hint of someone's life or a hint. About what the book is about, I love that so much. Yeah, So talking about books right now, let's close out January because we are officially out of January. Melissa, how many books did you officially read in January? And at fourteen? Well, you did pretty good on your You were one book short of your goal for the month, which, you know what, good for you? She's counting. Yeah, I read fourteen Okay, that's pretty good though, like, good job. It was well over four thousand pages, so I was. Proud of that. So I got three done this, I'm proud of you for that. Oh, I'm honestly with how busy my January has been, I'm actually really proud of myself too. I will say all of them, all three of them were audiobooks, and that's fine too. I just again, when my life gets busy, I do not pick up my books as much. And the fact that my daughter has yet again stolen my kindles so reading on Kindle has been a little bit challenging. And I am so nervous to finish the second part of my Kindle book, like I probably should at this point move on to a different one, just because I know the ending of this book. I've heard from several people that have read it that I'm going to absolutely ball. Is this someone that be wanted you to read No. Okay, no, not that one, but I have heard people cry that one too great, fantastic. So I read Madness by Chantaltess. Here I read Echoes by Steph maca and I have. A hard time saying this last one. I'm going to struggle, but it's ananthemaw by carry Lake. So I've read over all three of those books together were I think it was close to two thousand pages. Yeah, so that's decent for me. Do you want my list? I want your top three? Okay, yeah, let's do that because I think I can at least do three a month. Okay, so my number one would be Gorilla Broad Toel Kennedy L Kennedy again, can Do No Wrong. And then I would probably say Rednecks by Taylor Brown. That one was hard to get into, but I do think once I got past the first couple of chapters it was really good. That was one of the only audiobooks I had this year. I mean this month. And then the last one was We Started Here by Dakota Fox. I think you would really like that one. Yeah, yeah, I think you would really like that one. Okay. For those of you who care and have been following on like our website and such. I will be updating my book of the month, which, no shocker, my favorite book this month out of the three that I finished was Madness. I am such a sucker for that series. I don't know why, I just really am. It's a really good series, so that one will be on my as my January favorite. Book of the month. That's good, though. I'm glad that you got through it. Madness wasn't hard to get through, to be completely honest. The one that actually I've been struggling on was the last one. Yeah, I and it's not really the writing. I wasn't into it at that time. I did pick it back up again before I got a different audiobook, which, surprise, surprise, I'm actually listening to the book, the physical book that I was struggling with, because for whatever reason, if I am struggling reading a physical book, I can always have somebody else read it to me. And I think that just stems from my childhood. My mom read me a lot, so it's just maybe easier for me to comprehend in that fashion. But at least I know that about myself. I don't think there was anything else to like finish out the month so we can move right on to February. What exciting stuff do we have going on in February? We have at least six stuff you're kidnels, if not more than that. I will keep them updated on our website. We'll do well socials and then the blog and everything. Yeah, we'll do better this month. Yeah, as everything comes out. There was still a lot to be determined, which kind of blows my mind since I looked a few times in January and then I looked again this morning and a lot of them are still TVD. I don't like that. Yeah, that kind of upsets me. But we'll get a post out on all of our social media is kind of about what we're expecting. Maybe put on the stuff your kindles to be determined. They may or may not happen, but we'll let you know. I do know. There are several book releases happening in February this month, which is so exciting, very exciting. There's not a lot, necessarily for me that I'm excited about. There's a couple. There's one in particular that I am very excited about, and it's a memoir, which is really bizarre for me. But I'm very excited about it. By the time that this episode goes out, there's going to be at least a couple that I had mentioned in my notes February third, so these will already be released by the time this goes out. It's not Her by Mary Kubika, close enough, The wild Card by Stephanie Archer, which is Vancouver Storm Book five, which that one I'm maybe a little bit excited about, not that I've read the rest of them, but I do know some people that have read the rest of the series. How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates, I love that by Shaley Thompson. I'm so excited. I just liked the title and I'm like, that's wonderful. This book made me think of You by Libby Page. That is a one that's very popular right now. I saw several different creators talking about that one. And The Bone Queen by Will Shindler will be coming out on February third, February tenth. You're gonna love this one, are you ready? It's just one. I found one on February tenth. You and Me and You and Me and You and Me by Josie Lloyd and Emmelyn Reese. I love it so much. February seventeenth. This is the one that has my memoir you, I think will maybe be a little bit. Excited about it. It depends depends on where you were in middle school. Can't wait in high school? It was kind of around that time. So The Astro Library by. Kate Quinn that is coming out on the seventeenth. Her Last Breath by Taylor Adams. Close your Eyes and Count to ten by Lisa Unger Hunger, There we go. Sorry, I am, I'm so sorry. We mean no offense. No, I you know, I might like to read, but I can't read. So accurate. The last one for February seventeenth, Are you ready? I'm ready. It's called The Vout by David Archiletta. Oh so you're real sighted. I am really excited about that one because that was like, his music was a lot of my middle school high school. I mean, and he's not he's not too terribly much older than us, I don't believe. So yeah, I would love to read that one eventually and then free more. February twenty fourth, Kin by Taari Jones. That one has been big talked about the girls before by Kate Alice Marshall and the Resurrectionist by A. Ray Dunlap. That one, to me, I read some of like the little blurb about it. It sounded good. And the cover for that one is beautiful. It's like it's a decorative like skeleton beautiful. So that is what I have for you for February book releases. I will get something onto our website and our socials about that. Was that it? I think that's basically it. Oh so we're going from like hour and a half episodes to you know, like nothing. That's okay, we have questions. Let's start questions all right? Oh do you want to finish because we only did half of those last week? Oh, we can do yeah, are you ready for more? Never have I ever I'm so ready. I'm only gonna pick like the ones that I know would be a. Good topic to talk about. Right, Okay, Oh, this one's BS because I feel like that's just never have I ever laughed out loud at a book? Oh? All the time? I was finishing my book yesterday. Yeah, because I was like, I have to finish this, and so he played video games so I can read, and I went, what a plot twist? And he was plugged in and pulled out his head and he's like what And I was like, I just said, what a plot twist, and then right back to reading and was like, oh, I love that. It was great. Yeah. I mean I feel like we laugh enough as it is, Like clearly we've laughed at certain books. Oh, I don't think I've ever done this one. Never have I ever gotten an ARC advanced reader's copy. I'm an our reader for indie authors, so I have not received a physical copy. But I'm agreed for two. I would love to do that. You need to tell me how to do that. Well, I understand that. But if I could find the like the author that would want me to read their stuff, TikTok oh. This is this next one. This one's a yes for both of us. Anyways, I don't even have to ask it. Never have I ever read a taboo trope? I can think of one specific one that we both read. I just read a book about ninety year old strippers, so I think. So, what that's what I'm thinking. Oh, it was called the Oh they might not have been ninety, but it was called the Burley Cue Girls, and they were They were part of the early burlesque before it was stripping, stripping. There's a scene in this book where one of them Annie Fanny, that was her stage name. No, No one liked her that she was not well liked. Okay between all of them, Yeah, and she had I think it was Door or Cardier or someone make gem and crusted. Pasties with tassels. So they're all old and in the bathroom working on doing their nipple tassel day and. I literally loved out loud because I was like, no one wants to see them. No offense to literally anyone, but there's seven of them in the bathroom. I'm sorry, No, I like my mind has gone to like nobody is going to want to see me, like with nipple tessel song, Like I have had a child. Gravity has taken over. I'm getting closer to forty. No, I have not had a child. The way that they're face in the ground as fast as they can go. This one, this one is truly for the girls. He's gonna listen to be like, what you know. I do want to mention one thing because your fiance and I were talking the other day and he was like, yeah, you guys were in there for a long time last week and I'm like, yeah, I'm sorry, and he goes, it's fine. You guys were laughing and giggling, and I'm like, yeah about stupid shit, like he expects anything more, but like. Understands. Never have I ever missed a meal so you could read. I don't think I ever have. I just usually get my food and I just go about like I read right there while I'm eating. I don't know. I'm in a love hate relationship with food right now, Like I know I need to eat, but also nothing sounds delicious. Wait for this next one. Mm hmm. Never have I ever messaged an author online? M I haven't, but I want to be ballsy enough to not that I would ever see it. But it's mostly their pr people. I haven't. I have had conversations in like comments with others, but I've never directly messaged. Okay, not true, Sorry, not true. One of my favorite creators is also an author, and she just lost her father. Oh that's right, yeah, And so I reached out to her because I also have lost my father and she's younger than I am, and I was like, I just want you to know, like you're not alone. I know she's never gonna see it and that's fine. So yes I have, but not for their wedding. Oh right, And I mean again, like I don't expect anybody. If I wrote to somebody, I don't ever expect them to write me back. I know that there is a ton of people reaching out all the time. I get that, so would be cool. Yeah, let's be friends. Well, and then this one, like I do appreciate her content very much, but also I get it whole heartedly. And even if I could be the bright spot in a really dark time, I'm going to not even shoot my shot. Like, I want you to know that while I might not know you, I get it and I'm going for you. Yep, you are not alone. Absolutely Never have I ever met a book model, No, but I want to. I have not. I have not a lot of my book models are cartoons, so minor not mine a very much RelA. The book I'm reading right now. The book model is actually Kenny Chesney. And I have never met Kenny Chesney. I have seen him live three times. I still say that you should like invite him to your wedding because oh no, I'm dead serious too, Because like some people like you can send companies or other like celebrities invites, and they'll usually send you something back. He loves coming to Vermont. Who knows he might show up? Just write it. I've read your book. I heard you like Vermont. Why don't you come to my wedding? You know, I knew, I already knew. He like he comes to like Champlain all the time. Oh, we'll send you're going to be here. I'm pretty sure one of the main pictures of this book is him on Champlain. I wouldn't surprise me. There's you know, there's there are quite a few celebrities that actually enjoy Vermont. I mean it's it's because while we do very much care, we also do not care. Oh right, well, I mean, and there are some people that, yes, will get starstruck in whatever. But I will say, like Vermont is a very rural There's not a lot going on. There's not like a studio there are Our biggest are not big cities comparatively. So sure, you want to go to Burlington, go to Burlington, but you're not gonna have like a crowd of people where you're gonna need a shit ton of security. So I have a funny story about Burlington. Burlington is our biggest city. Yes. So I used to work with this lady from Texas and her and her husband had moved their daughter to. Someplace just in New York, so it was close. And she was telling me that she had come to our small town with Burlington to visit. And I was like what, and she goes, yeah, it was. It was super small. It was Queen And I was like, that's our biggest city and she's like the oh, no, it wasn't. Yes, that's our biggest city. Yeah. I was gonna say, I think it's Burlington, Rutland, Bennington, Brattleborough. I don't know. Woodstock, I don't know. I was gonna say Woodstock has to be in there. Oh, I'm sure that is. Yeah. Yeah, I mean no, Vermont is really populated but for us. But again, like the actor Louise Guzman, he has a house in Stow. I do believe he has a house in Woodstock. Oh. There was. There was a really famous action star that had one and I can't remember who it is at this point. That guy who got in trouble for shooting someone on set. What's his name? Yes, he has a house somewhere. The guy who Okay, like there's a lot of famous. Oh, I know, Jim Carrey actually had a house up in the Northeast Kingdom at one point in time. It was a horse farm. As far as I understand it, that's. What I had heard the dad, Oh, yes, the house or had. A house here. I don't know if he still does, I don't know. And again run into. Him at the store that your husband stops at all the way out of town all the time. Shocker, that's his favorite place. Shocker. That really, like is par par for that actor? Yeah, but that's fine. Like, I'm more than happy you want to come back and indulge. We can go out on the back porch. I'm okay with I'm you know what, honestly, I'm not even like sure that I would be super starstruck. I honestly my mind if I would meet somebody more on like the famous scale. I want to pick your brain, I really do. I just want to sit down and ask you tell me your life story. I want to learn. It's kind of like when I sit down with like my grandparents, right, I want you to tell me what your life has been like. I want to hear you. Tell me because I want to hear your perspective. I also want to be friends. I want all the friends. See this is why, this is why my old coworker said that we're both goldens, because I just want all the friends, like I forced my friendship upon her. No, thank you. See this is where roles are reversed. Never have I ever traveled for a book event. I would love to. I don't think I have not a book event per se. But we did go with a group of friends to a town in New York. It's called Hobart book Village. It was very cool and like that whole town is just bookstores. That's what it's made of. It's so cute. It was very cute, and I bought a lot of books. Same I bought a lot of kids books too. Though yeah, I need I need to go through there's a box out in the garage. I need to go through that box. Funny story about while we were on this trip. So my cousin has a little and she is my fiance's best friend. She called while we were checking out and answered and she goes, I want to talk to you. I was like, okay, you called me. She goes, yeah, where is he? And so he had to take his phone with the FaceTime outside to talk to her while I was Oh. That's right, I remember that. You called me for this. She had to talk, she had to talk to him. Yeah, because they are best buddies. And I will applaud you. You were the one that found the airbnb. Yeah, that was a really nice airbnb. Yeah it was perfect, I think so. Yeah, it wasn't a book event, but close enough. Yeah. Never have I ever swooned over a book character. M I don't think so. I might have thought like what he was doing or she was doing was super sweet, but I don't think I've swooned. I don't think so either. A swooner. Clearly. What did you have to do to be like that? What did you do wrong for us? Oh? Goodness? Never have I ever wished to live in a book? I don't. I don't know if I wished to live in a book. There's been like a series where it just is so cute and quaint and I'm like, oh, that'd be perfect. Yeah, it's kind of like living in Vermont. But also it's not right. They have c and we do not have any sort of water except for lakes. I was gonna say, we're the only New England state that is not connected to the ocean. Mm hm, we are land locked dom. Also fun fact, you can drive from the very to be top of Vermont to the very bottom of Vermont in less than three hours. Yeah, very very small. Well, and I mean that's why half of the country doesn't even think that we exist. We're just a part of Canada. I had someone ask me if we were in Boston, and I was like, hmm, Boston, Massachusetts, and they're like, no, Boston the state, and I was like, Boston is. Oh no, honey, it's like Boston is. In Massachusetts and we are not part of Massachusetts, and we are not Boston. I do promise you that the public school system has failed. This was when I was working for my parents' restaurant, so that was a long time ago, so it was. Failing back then too. Never have I ever smelled a new book. Oh absolutely all the time. I feel like I've witnessed you do that in Barns. I don't care. I feel like I've come across you just flipping through the pages in the middle of the aisle. I'll do some of the last ons like new paper so bad. Oh, I don't care. I'll tell you straight up, I don't whatever. It's like a contact high. Never have I ever wanted to live at a library? Oh, all the time. If it's my own personal library, sure, No, I don't care. So my fiance sent me a video. There's one in I don't know, a Middle Eastern country, and it's like so gorgeous. It's so pretty. Everything's carved out and it's like, oh, ten stories tall, and there's like these big rolling ladders, and oh, it's so pretty nice. I would like that. Yeah, I guess if it was like my own like picked out books, if I got to choose the books that were in this library. Sure, but I'm not gonna in a library with books that I'm not going to read. This is one. I think you would be fine because there's just so many books. Oh good lord? What? Never have I ever hated a character in a book? Yep, that's so funny because the question I picked out for this week is our most hated book characters. I don't care. I she is a sniveling little shit and I hate her. Yeah, I think she's a little bit helpless. I don't care. I cannot stand that character. Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to really think, like obviously, in that series alone, I didn't I really did not like Tamlin. I don't think a lot of people like Hamlin. And that's I think that's fair because the. Worst part is I really seriously wonder and I would love to ask the author if she planned on making it a series, because the first book does not make it seem like it was supposed to be a series. The first book was terrible. The third book was my favorite. I don't know, they got slightly better than the first book, but none of them were in my cup of teams. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I'm really trying hard to think of other characters that I really hated. I will tell you, like in Harry Potter, like you're supposed to really hate Voldemort. Yeah, which I get that he is the villain. I can't stand Lucius Mouth. Yeah that's what I was gonna say, is I can't stand Lucius. I feel bad because I know you're supposed to do just like Draco too, but I feel like Draco was stuck in such a shitty situation he didn't have a choice but to be hated. Yep, I'm really trying to think of other ones too. That's that's pretty much. It can't stand those two people. I'll think of one later. Yeah, and yeah, I don't know, like I'm gonna post this on our socials. Yeah, and I'm hoping that people comment, because I like, I will probably agree with a good majority of the characters that get called out. I want to hear some abstract ones. What characters did you hate in a book that weren't necessarily the villain? Like, yeah, absolutely, whether they were perceived at first as the protagonist or if they didn't come out like in a Fourth Wing. Dane is not perceived as a villain type character until like later on. He's not really, But to me, he came off as a villain at least in the first book. I don't know. I've never read it. Blasphemy. This is why be asked for me to read it, because she knew I would. Yeah, because she tried so hard to get me to read it. I'm not reading that. Yeah, sorry, I love you, but it's not happening. No, that's fine, but no, Dane was one of the ones that I could not stand him after I figured out what his powers were. M mmm, don't touch me. I didn't even know he had powers, so literally know nothing about the book. Just go with it. Yeah, I put some good ones in there. I thought that you would appreciate them. They're not all book related, but there's a good amount of them there. I think there's enough to at least get us. I think through the majority of the year and then I'll have to come up with more. But ah sucks, you have to come up with more questions. M darn. Anyways, February is here, Valentine's Day is coming up. Don't you forget my birthday's coming up? I am doing absolutely nothing. I did ask you if you wanted to go out to lunch or something with the three of you. Mm hmmm, because some of my favorite people are born in February, and I do believe we're all pisces. I think it's my birthday first, Yeah, yours? Then Bees? No, oh no, it's Case next h then my mom Nope, than Bees, and my mom's mm. Yeah. You just you have how you didn't end up with somebody who whose birthday was in February because his birthday is in July? Yeah, Oh my gosh. Should I tell them about my winnings? Oh my gosh. Yes, update from last week, from the from last week the wedding event. Going to the Bridal Show in Burlington. I got an email this week saying that he and I had won five hundred. Dollars off a venue, which is awesome. I was so excited. And then I looked up the venue and the cheapest package that they have, the cheapest it just goes up from here, was fifteen thousand dollars. So yay. They couldn't even give you a thousand off, Like that's kind of I don't so wild. That doesn't include a room to get ready in. That doesn't include any rooms at all, That doesn't include DJ, bar, service, dance floor, tent, oof, it didn't include anything. So it's just the space, two spaces, okay. And once you booked the chairs and the tables, they would set up the chairs table. Oh that's ridiculous. Yeah, And it was like a two hour drive for us. It's in a whole other state. M ridiculous f off. Jesus, I was so excited. I was so excited. I was like, oh my gosh, this is a sign. It is not a sign. I am far too cheap for that, Jesus. Oh goodness. So I think that's gonna be this week's episode. We gave you a nextra long episode last week one because we couldn't keep track of time. Second, we hadn't seen each other in about two weeks, so we had a lot to talk about. Anyways, I promise I won't talk sports every single. Episode next week. Be ready, friends, because it's gonna happen. Because she already is so pomped. It's Super Bowl Sunday. I'm so excited, and we need to record early. I was gonna say, we're gonna have to record early in the morning because then we can make all of the food that we're gonna make, and then I won't have lost my voice. By then, because you know for a fact that screaming at the TV, I'm gonna be screaming. I hope you lose your voice. Go Patriots, I hope you lose. It's so rude, it's so mean. I will gladly lose my voice if they win. I would be happy to lose my voice if they just won. I hope that every time they get the ball at Pops. Why would you even say that? First of all, First of all, you go ahead and name your Pickhum's teams that ERTs. Look what happens to Ertz? He got ERTs. Okay, so I will name my Pickham team. I hope the Patriots have the worst season ever and it will happen. Yeah. Sure, Look at what my dad did. He named his Pickums team. Go Boys. Well, it's not like. The can't have a chance. So I don't know what you're even saying. They never do well. I hate saying that too, because again, that is like the team that I grew up with, But they never do well anymore. I can't even tell you the last time we had a really good season. I know that is true. They didn't do horrible. What like it was either last year or the year. Yeah, I was gonna say like two years ago. So the Commanders were horrible, horrible, But I don't know. They haven't done well in a long time. Yeah, I'm not even sure I remember them being in a playoff for a while. Yeah it's been a long time. That's okay. Baseball season's right around the corner too, so I know, don't get me started. He already is getting ready for practices. So hey, I have a lot of time to read by myself in the quiet. Yeah, luck at you that's fine. I'm waiting for my daughter to get to the age where she plays sports if she wants to. I'm not going to force that upon her, but I have have a choice. I think he's going to very much be like she's playing t ball, whether she likes it or not. I was gonna say, I have a really sneaky suspicion that her uncle is going to be coaching same or he's gonna be just doing private freaking lessons like here. Or we're gonna be on the sidelines and you're gonna be screaming right right. Yeah. I can see him getting super super into it, which is great whatever, A little like he never called that way with me. He's an old man. Now. I don't know what you want. I know, well, I need to Honestly. It kind of reminds me of like how my dad was, because when I was in school doing sports, Dad was around. His age and uh, I don't know how many talking too. I got in the car on the way home. You know what you did. She's going to be like, I'm not writing with uncle anywhere, don't make me do it. And that's when I'm gonna be like, no, no, no, today you really do need to ride with him because he needs to talk to you. Played like shit, Oh. I do have to tell you. I had to talk myself out of buying her a shirt today. This is my auntie is way cooler than my daddy. Ask her, she'll tell you. The worst part about that is that my husband would look at and be like whatever. Probably I love that. He puts her in the don't make me call my auntie. That was funny. Actually, it was pretty funny that she matched the two of them at the engagement party. Oh yeah, that's funny. Yeah, that was kind of funny. Should we go make dinner for those boys? I suppose well. Thank you for joining us again. Thank you as always to all of our supporters, our husbands. What we do have a shout out this week? Oh that's right, we can't forget about the shout out. My cousin. I am so incredibly proud of her. She has a mommy of two and has never been a reader. And she messaged me the other day and said, Hey, I'm on book two for the year, and I am so freaking proud of this girl. I am too, like, I'm super proud of that because as a mom, I get how hard it is. I get how hard it is, especially being someone who I love to read, I have loved to read for years. I get how hard it is to even pick up the book, even if you do enjoy reading. So I get it. And good for you, girl, I'm so proud of you. You're awesome, Like that's fantastic. I wish I wish I had more time to read. So she's really found a thing with audiobooks. I think that's going to be. Her I'm telling you, you know what, when you are busy, especially for busy mom, audiobooks are sometimes just the way to go. Yeah. Well, she has a long ride to work, so I think that's been really helpful. But I am so incredibly proud that she is jumping off and trying. Yeah. Well, and I know like I have. It's about an hour ride into work, so I usually get and I listen to my audio books at one point seven speeds, so I get like two hours done at a time. I do kind of struggle while I'm at work listening to audiobooks if I'm working on something where I really need a lot. My job is reading or numbers, so sometimes I find it hard to listen to audiobooks then, but that's fine. That's why I have like Spotify and Amazon Music. But otherwise, like, if you are that person that can listen to audiobooks while you're driving, because there is a good majority that cannot, but if you can, it's the best way to get some reading done. I do it in the summer when I'm driving around the state. So and I do want to say, if you are someone who does not have the ability to purchase an audiobook. To listen to. Spotify gives you fifteen free hours of listening to an audiobook. They have several that are free. Check them out if you want to give it a try and you're not sold, I feel like it. It will not hurt to just give it a listen. Find something that is to you. And I do know there are several apps. Maybe that's something that we should look into for several apps, like not specific to audio books, but kindles. I know you like Cobo. I haven't gotten into Cobo myself. I've been trying to. There is a I think there's one or two stuff you're days too that we will definitely put out. And again sometimes they're not the best reads, but whatever, if you want to try it great. And some of them are indie author stuff and you'll find I've found that some of my favorite reads come from indie authors, just something that was like free from an event. So yeah, I guess thank you to all of our listeners. We did want to get that shout out out this week, but thank you to everyone. We're still working on getting the fifty states. I still think at this point, I think we're still only at the states that we had last week. I think someone we looked today. So yeah, I guess we still only have the states that we had last week, which is perfectly fine. Again, maybe if we get some more tiktoks going, maybe if the. Social media manager gets off her. But no, I'm just kidding you. I love you, do you? I do because it doesn't sound God, you're such a jerk. On that note, we will talk to you guys next week. Hopefully it's starting to warm up here. I'm super like already ready for spring. This is our second weekend in a row of negative numbers, and not like not even decent negative numbers, like cold negative numbers. It's actually really funny. My computers like cold weather. Now yeah, no. Shit, And when I say like decent. I mean like five blow's fine for us. Yeah, five blows fine. This is like fourteen below and more. It was projected. I don't think it got this cold. But we were supposed to get negative thirty windshills the other day. We got negative twenty on the way to work with the other day and I was like, this sucks. Yeah, I just want some sunshine. My battery died because it was so cold. Yeah. So spring is around the corner. We have made it through the month of the year. I feel like this month lasted all year. I was going to say the month of January lasted forty two years. So we are finally on to February, the shortest month of the year. So we'll have some more news for you next week. We'll talk about the book again because we are I think, almost at fifty percent. Through this book, which is great. We're going to actually finish a little bit early, I think, which is okay. Yeah, which is perfectly fine. Means we have more time to set up for our next book. Yeah, and I think we should pick a few out. And let some and pull it Ooh, that would be a really good I'm thinking I'm going to pull my next book. That's a great idea. It depends on how fast I finished this one, right, So be on the lookout on our socials. We're going to have some stuff coming at you, but we will talk to you next week. Thank you so much for listening. We really appreciate you. Thank you, friends, family, Thank you to people who are not in our state and are not related to us that are listening. We just we appreciate all of you. Maybe you know what, if you're not from Vermont, like I know, there's a couple of friends and family that aren't from a Vermont that are listening, and you're awesome. But if you're not friends and family, send us a comment somewhere on some sort of our socials. Let us know where you are from. We are very curious because we see it on like our analytics. We want to get to know some of our listeners. We're curious where is our podcast going right? We would love to hear what you're currently reading. You're interested in. Just give us some just say hello, give us all your information. I'm just kidding. Don't do that. That's that's a great way to have the FBI I knocking on our door. Thanks, I would be like, no, we don't want to do. They would like take one look at us and be like, never mind, let us know if you're if you're more of a Fetch reader with your fluff, or if you're more of a Catitude reader with your dark romance and murder. Yeah, I was gonna says, And then soon here we'll get a couple of books. I think we'll choose five to maybe pick from a poll for the next I know there's at least one that I know that we had both talked about putting. So I think for my choices it'll be three. Okay, So be on the lookout for those. We should have those up in the next week or so, and maybe we'll have that poll for our next book go probably in March sometime. So, but thank you for listening, guys. Well, thanks for listening guys. Thanks bye, have fun. Bye,
