Welcome to Fetch and Catitude Booknook. We are your hosts. I'm Melissa and I'm Elise. This show is about two very best friends who love books but also love talking about life occurrences. Join us for the girl talk. It'll get real, it'll get fun, it'll get interesting. Sit down, buckle up, and let us talk to you about all the things. Thanks for joining us, Hi, Broskis, that was. A lot better than what you were going to say. He told you. I was I'm gonna call him names. I like them, just not you, I was gonna say other than I'm just kidding. I love all of you. Welcome back. We've missed you. Yes, and we apologize. It has been a while, but it's been busy. Life has been life and hard. M m hmm. There's lots of new developments, lots of moving, lots of shaken. Just life is crazy. I don't know. She was moving and shaking yesterday while we're watching Bluey so oh, lots of moving and shaken. Yeah, that is not why we've been busy. No, absolutely not, but she does keep us busy. Yeah, I don't know. It's it's been kind of challenging getting back onto a schedule again. We've been moving you guys. We have also just kind of been doing our thing too. And healing and just taking the time we need to to process because there have been a lot of big changes. Well, I mean there's there's more big changes too. Like I'm I, I've been kind of slacking off on like social media recently, but I work got busy for me the. Last two weeks and. Then I at least I've got some really big news and. We're so excited for her. I kind of like out of the blue decided that I'm going back to school. I'm so proud of you. I should only need like two maybe three years of school to get my bachelor's degree in psychology, and then I'm going to move on and also do my master's which should only take me two years. So yeah, I'm actually going back to school to kind of my main goal on. This is to become a therapist psychologist. So yeah, things. We like I said, We've got lots of big things happening. We'll try to keep you in the loop as much as possible. There are some things that we just kind of can't share. We have to pay, we have to do things and take care of ourselves at the moment, like I said, but you will be up to date as soon as we can share things. Well, there's just a lot. There's a lot going on. Yeah, welcome, my husband, my daughter. It's all three dogs out go. Oh, ye're a silly leaving the one ride in the car. Ohkay happen bye bye? Oh they're going to go take the car out. Yeah. Yeah, so that's something new too. Many many years ago before me, my husband had bought his dream car. Bye. He couldn't even smile at me. That was rude as hell. Fucking rude asses. Sky's buttsame right here. So my husband had bought his dream car, which happens to be a Subaru WRX, and he loves, loves, loves. His car, which is great. I love that for him. However, his ex wife at the time, Supposedly the story goes like, I wasn't there. I don't really know. I just know his side, and his side is kind of very biased. It's the ex wife. But she was going around a corner on a dirt road in the middle of winter and was going a little bit too fast. She says that she hit some washboards and went over the edge. Of the bank. He tends to think she did it on purpose because he absolutely loved that car and it was one way that she could get one up on him, but she totaled the car. Wow. My husband has worked so hard to get to where he is. It has taken him years to regain his credit after going through divorce, going through a bunch of. Financial stuff, and he finally had a good enough credit and my car was on the way out, so we went to the dealership and we bought him. A new WRX. It is brand new too, But he loves that thing, and I'm glad he does. Like I know that he'll take care of it and stuff. So I'm really happy for him. I'm happy for you, guys. I'm really happy for him. He's talked about it so much over the last like even three years since little. It's just it's one of the those things like that was gonna be his forever car, and he would like he's the he's so mechanically inclined that he could possibly do that. Plus he put a lot of extras in his last car. He says he wants to win this car. He says he's like he just made the purchase He's like, I'm good for right now. He's like, I'm just happy that I have this again. But I can see him tinkering in the garage and it's what he likes to do. Okay with that do your own thing. But wait, what's the other big news that he said? Because he got a new car. This man looks at me when we're in the dealership yesterday and he goes, I, I don't think I can complain about your books anymore. That's a win for us. It's a win. Yeah, so that means I have well, actually, so I I had just won. I won two physical copies on giveaways on good Yeah, good Reads that recently, and I told him that they were gonna be coming in and like, hey, don't worry. I did not buy these. They are giveaways and I won them. No, I didn't spend money. He just kind of was just like, I don't even think I can be mad about anything. That's a win for us. He got his baby back and that's all he cares about. I like that. It's kind of purple. So it is. Actually, that was one of the things that we had both agreed on. If he was gonna get his dream car. He wanted to get like a color that he wanted. His last car was blue, so he was like, I don't want another blue one. That's just gonna give me super like PTSD. But he was also like, I don't like white. I don't like white cars. I don't want another black car, and I don't want red. Those were his stipulations. He's like, if it's any other color, I'm happy with that. They had two that were different than those. One was canary yellow. No, that's what I said. I was like, I'm not okay with that. The other one was this one, which is galaxy purple. It's like a black purple. It's really pretty in. The right light, it looks more purple and sparkly kind of. Yeah, but you can tell because we have our truck is black. When they're side by side. You can tell the difference. So it is a very pretty card. It is very clean, and wow, right now it's clean. I just spent the. Entire morning cleaning out the truck because that is now my vehicle. Right. It was so gross, so gross. But anyways, so yeah, a lot of fun stuff happening. I mean, I wouldn't call all of it fun, No, A lot. Of it has been hard. We are not going to go over our We're not gonna go over our our may like beginning of May stuff that we normally do. We kind of just lost that weekend. We were busy, So I mean, I'm not even sure it's worth going over. I guess to continue for the sake of it and doing like repeating our process. How many books did you read in April? It's fine, You're gonna be me every time. Do you want to guess? I'm gonna guess it's a little bit less than what you normally do, but I'm gonna guess fifteen. I read sixteen. Fifteen fifteen has been my normal, right, I read sixteen. That's not bad though. Yeah, I just I was going through a lot of the emotions. I'm not saying you learn what I was going to say. I started a new job where I can plug in and listen to audiobooks or listen to music, and I listened to a lot of audio books in April, like a lot. Why do you think? Okay, so Alyssa works on the same floor as I do. Now, Yeah, they put us on the same building. That's so dangerous. This bitch. I didn't do it myself, so don't even these bitches. So, like I had said before, like these past two weeks for me have been super busy. I have been out, I have mad meetings basically every day. I've been traveling a lot. I went down to the other end of the. State is not very big, so whatever I was okay. I left the house. It's a little bit before six in the morning, picked up my coworker. We were gone the entire day. It was a conference. It was it was a good conference. It was a really good comment. Yeah, she said that it was really good. Yeah, the presenters were great, the three that we went to. The keynote speaker, he was wonderful, full of energy, perfect keynote speaker. But we didn't get home, Like I didn't get home until seven thirty at night. So it was a long day. Yeah, yes, we. Traveled pretty much the entire sy yeah day. But it's okay. So I've been really busy. I have not been in the office all that much. So somebody took advantage of this. I was salty, you weren't there to leave me alone. So her, our coworker who is Alisa's work, I went to visit her was out and she goes, we should just probably move some of her stuff, and I was like, yeah, we should do that. What fuck. You guys are for it? So we moved all of her things, including I hit her shoes. It was so much fun. So then she comes in on Monday on Thursday, Yep, I forgot, because you forgot. You were it at work on Monday. Rude Thursday. I walked in because I had meetings all day at the office on Thursday. Well, first thing I walk in and I'm like, I look at my coworker who says, right next to me, my work wife. She says, right next to me, and I'm liked, somebody took my stuff. But she goes, you really think almost all your stuff? Really? She let me eat on it for a while. She was just like, what do you mean, And I'm like, my. Books are gone, my my bank is gone, My like zero the dog from U nine the name were before Christmas, my piggy bank was gone, Like all my stuff on my desk was gone. And I'm like, who would touch my things? And she goes seriously and I'm like, oh, the worst part about it is she kind of went with it for a bit until she started taking stuff out from behind her desk. I put the stuff on her desk book. I know, but you've all he like she was. She she was like, you could move her stuff and I was like, oh yeah, I could do that, and she's like, you could give me her books and then she wouldn't see them. I was like, oh yeah, And then once I started, I couldn't stop. She did not physically get up and help me, though. She just put the little little nugget in my head to do it. Oh no, yeah, she's really good at that. Oh it was Fuck, it's funny though I had completely forgotten we did it until you're like, it does not help. That morning, my alarm again, because my schedule has been so messed up, I forgot to set my alarm for Thursday. So I got up. I looked at the clock and I'm like, oh shit, I need be out now, Like I'm supposed to leave right now. So I'm like running around. I had to get my daughter ready. I think that was the fast I've ever gotten ready, and I like, we're out the door. I'm running late. Dropped her off with my in laws, and I get back, and that is what I. Came into it I'm like, and then we went to get a bagel and she was so busy she didn't even get to go get a bagel. No, and then I felt Then I felt terrible. No, I'm dead serious, like I've just been so behind because I've been out and I'm not I have three four different site visits this week. Yeah, so Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, I have sight visits. Do you like that? I said, you can't have sight visits this day. I need you to drive me to work please. I even put that on my calendar, like I did actually put that on my calendar, and big bold letters do not schedule driving a Lissa. So it's been kind of crazy. It has been fun, like I'm I'm so lucky that I have the people in my life, because yes that I was a little bit depressed when I came in, but I was just like the worst part about that too, was that I had brought something in for Alyssa for her desk, because she keeps saying that like I have all these things at my desk that my daughter has made and all that like fun stuff. Well this is like, well I don't. I don't have anything for my desk and I'm like, oh, I can get you onedy of artwork. Like. So, the kids had all made Mother's. Day gifts, so Louis brought me up Press Loop. I basically chucked it at her. I was like, here you go, you fucking douche, I hear something nice for you. My seat mate said it was the cutest thing. Though, it is cute, and it's cute, it's cute. I just like, I know it's for brother's Day, and that's perfectly fine. But like we've always joked around saying that you hear her second mother and then my other coworker was her third mother. She got half of my DNA. Yeah, so, oh my gosh. So we've talked about how she's a little speech delayed, which is fine, she's cruising through word right now. But they were at the house yesterday and my fiance was downstairs in the basement working on some stuff, and they were getting ready to leave. My she opens the door and she goes, she yells his name, Alis goes, no, stop, you need to call him uncle, and so she says. Unkie uka ka and. Then then of course he had to come running because that is his girl. But I was dying laughing. So today we're at Alisa in her husband's house. She gets up and goes running to the fridge and opens it and goes suggar suggar. Or I was like, do you need sugar? Sugar? And then she's in the fridge just going suggar suggar. It's like, what sugar do you need? Bag? Like, what do you need? I don't know what that's about. The only thing that I can think is that I've been making my home made chocolate sauce. A lot lately, and she is taking full advantage of them. Yeah, because she she actually gets really pissy now if I don't have chocolate sauce on hand to make. Her chocolate milk. She needed sugar. That's the only thing that I can think that it would be normally goes up to it and calls it chocolate, chuck it. What else does she say today? Though? Flamingo? What was it? I don't know. It was so funny though she tried so damn hard. She's just getting there. She like, she knows she wants to say it. She just she's trying. Can't. She's trying. I think her she gets a little like tongue tied sometimes I don't. Know the day shop on the fridge and said I need soda. Share bab, good job. And she looked at me the other day and said, I want. An apple perfect. Okay, you can have it if you're telling me that you need this or you want it. Great. Do I want you to have soda at seven o'clock at night? No? But she got me so hard the other day. So normally our rule is if you have your tablet, you don't get to watch TV. That's normally our rule here. Normally. Wow. She walked up to me the other day. She had her tablet in hands, she was playing on her tablet, and she hands me the remote to the TV. And I said, honey, you know the rule, and she looks at me she goes please. Normally I have to prompt her to use her manners and she please. I'm like, a right, fine. So as soon as I stood up, she starts running towards her playroom and she goes, thank you, and I'm like, okay. She can say it. She chooses not. She's spiteful. I love it. She's something. She's so funny. But yesterday got me. I was laughing so hard. She was so cute. So the time to talk about this book? Oh wait, I didn't go over how many I read? Oh yeah, tell me about yours? Sorry, so you read sixteen? You said, yes, I read one. Do you wanna tell me what your favorite read? So so going through this I really like I was. I was trying so hard to finish my physical book. There was just again, there's so much going on this path. I just had no The book that I finished was an audio because I've been going out a lot. So well, that means that the one and. Only book that I read that is going to go on my list of favorites, which I it was good. It wasn't that great, but it was good. Was not Tcadia by Carrie Lake nice. It was actually a decent book, like I I think it was. It Earlier in the year or last year, I finished her Anathema and that I wasn't super into, which is super weird because it's a it's a romanticy. Yeah, I wasn't into it. This one was kind of a romanticy too, but it added a layer of science into it, so I kind of liked it a little bit more, and I wish there was a little bit more in. If that was a series, but it is a standalone. But so, yeah, I guess my favorite book for the month was not Chakadi yet. I have since then finished two books since May started, so I'm actually right on schedule for me. I have not started another physical book yet, just because I have been. Struggling because I've been so busy. I have been really busy, so I've been trying to focus on just getting our book club read. Done every week. Yeah, which we definitely got behind. Yeah. Can I just share an update now that we're through the first four months. Yeah, I have read seventeen of my twenty six and twenty six I. Have Oh no, actually i've read two. I'm very proud of you. Thank you. That's it. I just wanted to share that. Okay, I'm not gonna lie. I've listened to a bunch on Libby because right now having to focus is not going well for me. I've been winning a lot on Kindle, so I've been trying to get back into my kindle at least, and I'll. Take my kindle with me places. But I think for right now, I just need to take a little bit. Of a break from the physicals. Just the last one that I read took me forever. It took me almost two months to get through. And that's rough, Like I'm not usually like that. But maybe it was just the book. Maybe it was because it's dark romance and apparently I'm sinking into contemporary. Can I also brag again for a second, because you know how I'm doing my Kindle this year, Like I'm just I'm not using Kindel limited, I'm not doing anything. I'm trying to get down the list of Kindle books that I have. I have read fifteen off of my Kindle list. Does that mean I still have six hundred to go? Yes, I think it's probably more than more than that, probably closer to like eight hundred or a thousand. But I feel good that I've touched. Well, no, that's good, though, No, that's really good. I think that's I know that was one of your goals was to like try to whittle that down. It'll take a while anyway, just because there's so many. Just just oh, sweetheart, we're only in d's. Oh oh, I don't even know, like I have my I wish I could. I wish that I had the patients to sit down and count how many there actually are. I wish that I had just told you at the top like number. Yeah, that'd be really cool. Unfortunately, there just is so much to read in so little time. Yeah. I probably could scroll for six years and never hit the bottom of this list. I mean I definitely could go through and download them all, and then it would tell me how many I had. But I have. If you filter, you can you can see how many you have. So I have one hundred and twenty currently. Books? Yeah? Oh fuck no? And how many nothing? None of your business. I think it is my business. How many do you think? I don't know because I'm scared what we're looking at. What's the damage? One thousand, five hundred forty nine. The guess you gave to me doesn't even get close to that. Oops. Oops, well I guess I don't. Maybe that's not right. Give me a second. Hang on, it might not be right. Give me a second. There is fifteen forty nine books sixty one that could be audible. Does that count in your books if they could be audible? Okay, great, I just. Looked at my unreads. I have some on there that are read. I also have one document and I think that's one of the ones I won from StoryGraph that was a download. Okay, so on Red, I have one thousand, five hundred and twenty two. You're almost like a thousand off from your guess. That's fine, but I also have been deleting my books off of my Kindle as I read them. Still, that's really cool. I'm so proud of you. Good job. There's fifteen less than there was what percentage that I less than one? Yeah, I'm trying. Okay, No, that's fine. That's you. You're fine. I fifteen books. I shouldn't even like, like, good. Lord, I should go through and delete ones I know that I just don't want to read. That really hurts my heart. Yeah, I mean a lot of the Kindle books that I've been winning are ones that are they're listed as self helped, but they might help me in. My college, yeah, career path. So I'm just like, oh no, So like I went through a phase where I loved paranormal. That is not me anymore. I am not a parallel paranormal romance reader. I wish I could say I was. I am not. So I'm sure there's a lot of them on here that are from that stage of my life. Yeah, I get that too. I do do Christmas in July, So there are a bunch of Christmas books that'll be gone in July. Yuh, and then I'll do them again in December. So, I mean there are a lot that I'll probably get rid of. Oh, I know, they're so sad. I mean I've been focusing on getting physical books lately, which kind of sucks because I like, I have one whole bookshelf that is oh it's a mini bookshelf. It's only a three shelf bookshelf, but it's my TVR of the books that I have been given, that my twenty six or twenty six. Like I wish that all of the books, the physical books that I own that I need to read on the three shelf bookshelf. Oh that's sad. I was gonna say, like, your TVR is what like four bookcases? No, all of the books in So I have a library now in my office that's all of my. Books that are read on read that are at the house because I do still have I think two or three full totes the apartment. Oh no, that's right. Thankfully most of those are read, though not all of them, but most of them. Yay. I mean, what do you want from me. I've been a reader my whole life. I just whatever. I should have counted them to see how many that I actually truly have, because my goal in life is to have a library, and that's only a thousand, so I mean that doesn't count. I got almost two libraries, a library and a half. You just carry your library everywhere with you I do. That's pretty sad. So okay, sorry, I know you don't want to do this. I'm forcing you to read this. We're over halfway done, so let's start with. So we're gonna stop right there. If you have not read too chapter sixty, do that first, unless you are not a fan of a book like I am, and then you don't need to worry about it. Just listen because we're gonna fill you in. Okay, it's not true. I do not dislike this book. It's a little bit predictable, yes. But I also am very much irritated a lot of the characters. Well, and like I understand and your reasoning for being irritated at them too. But unfortunately, that is kind of how Dystopians go. Because we can see it on the outside is the third party, but for them. That is just the normal. I know it's not even that. It's some people are so some characters are just so talked about and established, and they just keep getting more, and some characters just don't. Yeah, and I know it's probably done on purpose, but I feel like I got too much of some characters and not enough of the others. I would actually have to agree. I feel like some of the characters at some points are getting like hard to remember or forgotten. Yeah, so this is out of order, and it's fine Jade's story. Her chapters have them fairly brief. Yes, I don't dislike Jade's story. I'm not a fan of jade story. I'm not a fan of any of their stories. I did really like Ellis to begin with. Now I want to strangle myself anyway, a lot of their stories. There's only one true story that I am enjoying at this point in its Nicks. Okay, back to Mandy. So Mandy's story, I I don't think this is going where we thought it was. Because we had said, oh, watch like Mandy's gonna fall in love with the sister because Richard is gone. Chloe, yes, and she's gonna fall in love with the sister. We have different theories. Now. Yeah, so a little backstory. We all know that Richard's passed and Mandy starts hanging out with his mom and sister a lot, a lot. Well, she kind of stops talking to her family to hang out with his family, and her family finally calls her out on it. But that's not before really big changes is really big changes have happened in her life, and I don't know how to feel about the changes. So after her family kind of approaches her and says, hey, this is like she finally comes clean to them, or at least it was her. Yes, this is after the changes happened. Okay, then talk about the changes. So his mom says, you know, he had cancer when he was a child. Because of that, he wasn't sure he would ever have kids, so he gave it. He has some of his sperms saved so he could have kids. Do you want to have one of his children or do you want to have his children even though he's gone? And Mandy thinks about it, and something happens at work and she quits and says, Yep, this is it. I'm going to do it. I want to have his children. So she goes and they try the first time and it doesn't take, and then the second time it does take. So she is pregnant by a dead man because his mother has control of his sperm. What it's mentioned in the book that that is bizarre, like we it actually has talked about when I think it's her cousin and her sister come and like kind of corner. Her sisters, two sisters. So they kind of come and like confront her and were like, what is going on with you? You haven't been answering, you haven't been talking to her, we haven't seen you in months. And she does come clean. She lifts up her shirt and she's like, I'm pregnant hahha, And they're like, okay, we thought haven't met him, right. That's when she says, like, and you're not going to m h like he has passed away and like I still want to have his kids and stuff like that explains the whole thing, but. She still wasn't very forthcoming, like she's like, oh, you're never going to and they're like, why is he gone? Did he run away? Did you get pregnant? And then he left? Like she didn't want to tell them. Not at first. One of the sisters is actually just like, that's not. Cool, that's pretty fucked up. Actually, yeah, she was just like that's really that's really really weird. And her other. Sister they also don't like that his mother was the one. I was like, oh my god, do this right? No, which, and again this is where you and I have had this conversation of our theories on it. We fear considering Richard's mother has control of his DNA. I'm wondering if she's gonna try to take custody of this child after it's born. Yeah, because she doesn't have a job. She lives with them. They take care of everything for her. I really think that she's gonna try that just to get Richard back. Yep in a way, mm hmm. Yeah. It's not giving me good vibes. Yeah, I'm not a fan. I just don't even know what to say about it at this point, Like, I'm not a fan. No, Yeah, so that one's kind of getting rocky. Next is Christopher. I actually don't dislike Christopher's story. I wish I could. I He's not my favorite, but. From a psychological aspect or standpoint, Christopher's story just because like he I think was fully in this for his own psychological benefit. So when Christopher was younger, he did his own research into like why he was different and why he wasn't normal. But he has found that he like this is his normal and I'm not trying. To like make excuses for him, right, I'm not trying to normalize. Yeah, what he is is absolutely not absolutely a serial killer. It's just. This is gonna sound super super weird to me. So I have also done the same thing, but from an aspect of like what makes a criminal a criminal and what makes a serial killer a serial killer? Why do they do? Like I've done my I've done so much research on different cults, like I can resonate a little bit with the thought process. Right, Oh, Christopher is still dating Amy. There, everything's going great. She stays with him, she has her own login on his computer where he keeps all his sketchy shit. Like I think he's falling in love with her. He just doesn't know what that is. Well, right, The thing that gets me is we find out that Christopher's never done this before, but he's starting to take her to meet his victims before he kills them. Right, So, yeah, I think it was the latest chapter. Actually, Yeah, they had. Gone to a restaurant, and at this restaurant, the waitress that they had was his. I think she was number thirteen. Mind you, he's trying to get up to number thirty. Yes, he's stopping, yep, which is bizarre to me because serial killers normally can't have that much self control to stop. I don't think he's a serial killer in the aspect of serial killers. I think that he is like, this is my goal, this is all I want and done. I think it's his. And there have been different criminals that some have been serial killers, some have not. It's purely based off of the number of people that they have killed, right, but some actually only do it to say I have done. This right, And he does not take the way that a normal person takes. So to say that serial killers don't normally do that, you're right, but he is not the normal. No. Well, and that's just it, right, Like that's why he fascinated. His story fascinates me. Yeah, I do. I don't enjoy a story, but I enjoy his story, if that makes sense. Like, I think it's so interesting that she was that Amy was yelling up the stairs at him. They needed to hurry up. And go because they're gonna be late for their reservation. But he was on his computer making sure that number thirteen was following everything she normally did so Amy could meet her before. She died, right, And for him, it's like it's almost the zing of adrenaline. Mm hmm. Because afterwards too, when number thirteen is found, Amy calls him and was like, hey, do you remember that waitress? And he's like, more than you could ever know. But the other thing we haven't touched on is that, well, Amy is spending the night now. He keeps his garrot under the bed and lays it across her neck while she's sleeping. He doesn't want to kill her. He doesn't want to. He knows he could, but he doesn't want to. Right, His thought process with that is like, I absolutely could do this, Do I want to? No, I'm scared that Amy's gonna be number thirty. That's an interesting thought. Actually, I'm scared that Amy's gonna be number thirty. That would honestly make some sense, only because one that would like pretty much end his like if if anybody was suspicious of him, that would end right. There, right. Oh, no, you didn't think about that to do I'm sorry. I honestly was going down the path of like, maybe this will be like an am like she'll become an accomplice and because she loves him so much, could I don't think yours sounds so much better though? Sorry? Sorry, I'm not. Is next great love daid story? Some it's great? I love it? AnyWho, So go ahead? You had called this one? Yeah? Up. So we know that Jade has stayed in Australia to help out with Kevin while he is going through his terminal cancer. We had actually called this. You had called this. Her chapters have been getting smaller and smaller recently. As soon as she as soon as he opened the door and she said, you're not Kevin, I was like, yep, here we go, right. So, although her and Kevin have been hanging out a. Lot, they've been hanging out a lot, and they've been chat chatting, and he's very much fallen in love with her. He has, yes, she. Has not. She has fallen in love with someone. Else, his brother yepr. But surprise because she is getting married to Kevin. Yeah. In the last chapter, I think it was Kevin was like, you know, I want to do this before I die. Yep. Would you marry me? Yep? And she even says that like, even though she wanted, she wants to say no, she doesn't feel like she can. Right, But I do see this as being the end all for Mark. Mark's gonna be like, Nope, you're married to my brother Die. I don't care, right, can't do it. And she says while they're getting married that she is it's taking everything she has not to look at Mark, and that's so fucked up. Well right, because so she thinks Mark is doing the same thing and trying to like almost. Ignore her, and which I would get at. But this is where like more of Ellie's story kind of gets in more of the science behind it. But Ellie star gets into the science behind it. That's a knees lapper. Anyway, we'll get into that in a second. Let's move on because so we can get there, Nick, Nick, So this is the one that. You really like? I quite I kind of like this one. It's getting really messy though for me, it's. Getting messy, but I love it because Sally is a bitch. Sorry, I can't stand Sally. I cannot stand her. She treats him like garbage. She wanted to harass him about it, and then he met Alex and fireworks. I don't like I don't like Sally's friends either. I like Deepak, right, that's his name, Maria and Deepak. Yeah, okay, I like him. I don't, but see, I like him because he looked it slip that they didn't do the match, and su Maria, I just wants everyone to think that they're perfect. And I'm pretty sure that Deepak is sleeping with all of the people. I'm wondering if Deepak is sleeping with Sally. I didn't think that, but I do wonder if Dpak also is bisexual, because he is so for Nick leaving Sally for Alex. And I don't mean this in the way it's gonna come out by any means. Normally it's a shock to It's more of a shock to men when they when their best friend says, hey, I'm into this guy, like that's that's I'm sorry, but that's just unfortunately, yeah, because they're bros. At this point, him and Deepak are bros. And well, Deepak was super like, do it, dude. It makes me think that maybe Deepak had actually done the match. It is match to a man. He could be he could be. So it's almost like Deepak living through Nick. Yeah, but another part of it could be that Deepak also like sees how terrible Sally right, because they talk in private and like, yeah, Deepak is like, if you have this connection. Like why wouldn't you take it do it right? And that's where it comes out that like they didn't do it, they're just putting on this whole like charade. Yeah. Well, in the last chapter, Nick gets drunky drunk. So leading up to this, Nick meets up with Alex a few times. He goes on vacation with Sally because Sally's like, oh, we're falling out of love, Like we need to go do this. Sally plans a vacation. They go on vacation, and the first thing he does when he's back is finds where Alex plays rugby and goes to his rugby game after being away for eight days. Eight days, that's all it took. Yeah, And they've hung out a few more times since then, in which they clearly have feelings for each other, and Nick even says early online it's not a sexual relationship, that is not it's much more of like a we really like each other's company. We would like hang out with, like. Talking, but later on Nick's or Steve feelings of like whoa, maybe it could be like I I don't know, I like it, but I think Sally, once she finds out, is gonna go. Fucking nuclear mm hmmm. I have a theory about this actually, So I think Nick's gonna go all the way to their wedding date and Alex is gonna be the one that comes in and says. I object, that'd be cute, right, I'm just looking There's something I wanted to read m hm, and I'm just trying to find it. Okay. So when Nick and Sally were gone it was eight days. He clearly says that they're gone, and he asks Alex because him and Alex go for a ride after the game. He said, this will sound really tragic, but I have to ask have you thought about me much since we last saw each other? He looked away and waited for Alex to reply, hoping his answer would be positive, and then Alex says, what do you mean? Have I thought about you over the last eight days, eleven hours and let me check forty seven minutes. Yeah, you could say I have a little right, and that is so cute. It's a little bit like it's not like obsessive obsessive, but it's much more like observant. Yeah, Alex is very attuned to his. Time with Nick, and I love it. I know the little sin and' rolls and I love them so much. You know. In the last chapter of Mick's Nick gets drunky, drunk because he's started drinking more. Yep, mostly anything because he's so unhappy with his living situation right now and his just his situation in general. But yeah, he gets drunk. He drunk, and so we ended on next chapter. We don't we didn't start, but yeah. He gets drunk. He drunk, and deep Howk. And Sumeria are over yep, and he completely like. Outs them because I think so Maria is going off. Yeah, so Samaria is pregnant with twins, and we find out that Deepak is planning to use tender while she's pregnant or after the baby's come, because he's like, I don't I'm not fucking doing this. So in his meltdown he says pretty much, he just says like, are you sure it should be with him? And Sally picks up on the hymn. Yeah, but the last sentence of that chapter, Sally took a deep breath before she spoke, you should be with Alex and not me. Do it? Leave her? Do it? The last one? The last chapter is Ellie. So I want to give you all the problems in the world. You called it from the beginning. Can I tell them go for it? Guess what I fucking told you that Ellie was the creator of match or DNA. I called it. She's the scientist. She found all the things I win. Yeah, we do reuse them. Yeah, I know. Anyways, So yes, So Ellie and Tim had had gone out to their second date. And just to remind you, Tim has fallen in love with her at first part. Great. Can I just tell you this ship that Tim says cracks me up. Kind of reminds me of another very similarly named. Individual, Holy Flying Fahimas. I won't say I'm out of all the partners or the matches, I think Tim. Is my favorite. He was he was my favorite. Yeah, I forgot about that part just until now I was. I was really tired of reading it least. So anyways, let's start from the beginning here. So they go out on a date and they're leaving and it's their first kiss, and their first kiss is broken up by someone screaming at Ellie and throwing red paint all over her, and she books it and Tim is trying to be helpful and he pays for the uber and like just as being altogether a great guy. He gets her home, she gets in the house and she slams the door in his face and then ignores him. And then I think it's a few weeks. Later, Yeah, because she ignores him for weeks. She does go back to his house. Which shows up, which is weird and he should have that should have been red flag for him because he never told her where he lived. She literally had someone looking up in her office. She shows up at his house. He's like wearing like regular. Like going to work clothes, yeah. And eating a bowl of cereal and. He's like, Hi, why the fuck are you at my house? Weirdo. She also brings her so ready guard with her your bodyguard. Yeah, Like he's questioning that, but then so she explains, Yeah, she's the scientist who discovered it. She doesn't see herself as a creator of anything. She's just she found this amazing thing and she wanted to share it with the world. So she explains the science behind it, which it is very interesting. And you had been complaining that there. Wasn't enough on that, so I'm glad you got your chapter. But they go out the last chapter to a dinner party. No, her mom's seventieth birthday. Oh, that's right, so he's meeting her whole family. Yep, oh no, no, no, no, So he meets her whole family before this, and then they go to a Christmas party. That's right, it was a it was a company wide Christmas party. Okay, so let's talk about the family first. Yes, So he goes to her mom's seventieth birthday party and everyone freaking loves him, and then at the end she says that she loves him, but not to him, but he's sitting right behind. Her, right, so he hears it anyway. Yes cue. I was like, oh my gosh, this is gonna be the best storyline. Flash forward to this stupid freaking Christmas party. But so Ellie doesn't normally go to any party outings or whatnot. She also doesn't let them plan like anything interesting, but this year she's like, oh my god, I'm so in love let's do all the things. One of her co workers or one of her. Subordinates yep should say, does come up to her and it was like, oh my gosh, I didn't know you were dating this guy. And she goes, oh, yeah, do you know him? And she goes, I remember him from when we interviewed him, and he didn't get the position. But you must know him because you must have given him a second interview. Mind you. Tim has always said that he's a like it computer science specialist. Huh. I said from the beginning, I was really worried he was a hacker. I yeah, I'm really worried that he had the system to purposefully match with her to break her. I am worried that he didn't do that and is now using her because surprised she has a match. I feel like he would have joined to be a dick because he didn't get the position. Because oh so you just think this is like total coincidence. Almost, I'm worried that it is. And so she's fallen in love with him and he I do think he genuinely has some sort of feelings for her. I don't think that they're all the best intentioned. I mean it's always been a little bit weird too with him. He almost seems like too preppy at times and two dice and too happy, So it kind of like put me off for a while a while. But I swear to God if we lose Tim and his holy find, but he doesn't going to be pissed. Love it first part, love it second part too. So that is pretty pretty much where we're at in terms of our book. Read right now, we are. More than halfway done, and we are going to be reading this week chapter sixty through sixty. Nine, So read to seventy Yes, that is correct. Do not read seventy. Ending on to ninety four. Mm hmm, yeah, okay. Do you want to do one question and then be done? Yes? Okay, Because it is Mother's Day and for Mother's Day, I want to take a nap, but it's three o'clock, so I probably should not take a nap. I'm going to finish that bottle of wine my girls gave me. My step son's girlfriend messaged me and so on Happy Mother's Day. It was so cute. Oh no, yeah, my stepdaughter one of my step dad, well, both of my stepdaughters did message me, but one of them one of them messaged me later in the midday and she was just. Like, you know, I really appreciate all you done. I would be nowhere without you. Life would be so boring without you and a Michael Thanks. I think it's because we keep it spicy. Best books to get you out of a reading slump. If you find one, let me know. I'm just kidding. So my choice would be I think I'm gonna reread the Off Campus series. The show comes out this Wednesday. I think that I just need to go back to a comfort read. Yeah, that's kind of what I was gonna say, is like any of your cup comfort reads, I feel like, are great books to go back on at least you're reading. Yeah, it's probably like your second, third, fourth. Fifth, fifty seventh I read. But that's why, Like on my twenty six or twenty six I added in some books that I already read. Not me, that's not true. Everyone knows I read The Wanderer every year. Yeah, I mean I put in I Lid the Blue Dolphins. I haven't read that one in a hot minute. I also put in Hatchet because it is one of my favorite books as a kid. So their comfort reads, I haven't read them in the years, so I'm like, wow, I mean it would be very easy. They're only like one hundred pages or so. Yeah, children's books, but you know what I mean, that would at least get me back into the mood of reading it. Yeah, right now, I am not in the mood of reading. I am not in the mood of anything right now. I don't want to watch a TV show. I don't want to watch a movie. The only TV show I'm excited about is The Off Campus. Yeah. I don't want to read a book. I don't want I don't want to do anything right now. I mean again, I've been I've been in the slump of like I don't really want to read because I've been so busy. Yeah, so when I have free time, all I want to do is play on my phone. I don't even want to play on my phone, Like I've downloaded some new games because like maybe this. So no, I'm not interested. There's nothing about it that I want to do. Yeah, I get that, I totally get that. I just want to lay in the throw dark and just not Yeah. I mean, I will say, because I've been getting more into the comfort comfort cozy romances I did end up just finishing the last part of Keeping thirteen. Yeah, so I finished Binding Thank you. Binding thirteen and Keeping thirteen. I finished both, and I probably will actually listen to the other they thought they're books of the series. You better tell Bee, she's gonna be so excited. B I'm probably gonna read the rest of the series. What have you done to me? You've turned her into a contemporary romance reader? I love it. Yeah, I'm actually the the one physical book that I did like pick out to try and start. Reading was The Wedding People. I can't wait. I know you had you had told me that I should read that. My sister also told me I should read that, So I'm like, well, I guess that I probably should. I mean, I don't know as I would truly classify it as a contemporary romance. No, I don't even know, Like what is? What is it? Actually? Was it more wrong? Connie? Yeah? It might just be labeled. As fiction, contemporary literary fiction, or commercial fiction. Oh yeah, okay, so contemporary. Fiction blending dog humor with deep emotional themes. Okay, divorced grief and unexpected friends church Okay, yeah, I might Are you gonna read it. Are you? Did you start reading it? Mmm? I might listen to it while you read it. Okay, what am I listening to right now? Oh? I started the audio book Anibot. Oh it's cool for you. Well, yeah, it's much more on sci fi dystopian topic, but it also, like it will, it has me questioning like how far Ai has come along, and it makes you question like Ken Robots actually feel. I do have to tell you that I have to take a book off of my twenty six and twenty six. I did not realize that it is a sequel. Oh, it's it's not a true sequel, but people do say that you won't understand some of it without the first. So I am. I am taking The Woman in Sweet eleven off of my TBR for now, right off of my twenty six and twenty six. The first book is The Woman and Kevin ten. Oh, yes, that would make sense. I want to buy it, and I actually everywhere that I tried to buy it they didn't have it in stock. The only place they could get it was Amazon, and it as a massed market book. And I don't want a small book of it. I want if I'm going to get it I'm gonna get the hardcover. Yeah, so I have it saved right now as a book on Libby. There are nine hundred people in front of me, so I'll get it eventually. But I do want people to know that I am removing that from my twenty six and twenty six and. My mom gave me a bunch of a stack of books for my degree. Hey, yeah, no, I am actually really thankful. But yeah, I mean, I don't know. I've been very much not reading of anything. I have been listening when I am out about. The next book that I'm supposed to get on Libby is half his age. I am sixth in line and I started out four and forty ninth. Nice, I know I have to. I actually have to go in. I don't know if they're still doing the sale or not, but Audible was doing a two for one credit. I'm really hoping that's still on there because I kind of forgot about it. I am not buying any Audible. I'm going free. I have to go as free as I can right now. Well, see, here's my thing. I need to go to the library and actually get my library card so then I can set up Liddy. Yes, you do Okay, anything else you need to talk about. Okay, thank you for listening. We've missed you incredibly. Again, we're sorry for the gap in recordings, but we are working on getting back in the motion of getting them done every week. Do not quote me on that my life has been. Wild, especially if things get busy, like I'm supposed to start classes the twenty third. I think if you never I'm just kidding. No, in the twenty third of May, so well, who knows. I also am away next weekend. We are coming back on Sunday, but I don't know what done. So what I'm hearing is I need to invite be over. Do it so we can have our own do it. And then maybe we can actually introduce her and then stop using b. Because we can talk about your sister now because we've introduced her on the podcast and not on the podcast on TikTok. That's right, we didn't. I didn't. I don't think I said her name though I don't think she'd have a problem. Though I also don't think she'd have a problem. No, that might be something I do. Oh, but I don't know if her husband's racing, right, him and his racing anyways, any who's it's. So, who's it's and what's its glory? I've got to Oh Jesus, we need to be done. Okay, okay, So either way, like I will at least myself try to if I mean, maybe I'll try. To corehurse my husband to. Maybe we can talk about is a new car? I mean, we might be back. I don't know. We're coming back on Sunday, but I don't know when. So big news. My stepdaughter is graduating college this weekend. So we're going to watch her graduate. Very excited for her. And this is just for her bachelor's right. She has two bachelors, so she's graduating with two degrees. And she is actually going to be continuing college and she is getting her masters eventually. Yes, I don't know if it's the plan right now to go directly back into school. I think she might take some time. That's fine, but yeah that's the plan. Mm hmm. I love it. We're very proud of her. Everyone is very proud of her. She's a brilliant kid, very smart, very smart, too smart. Yeah for her own good being so smart. No, So yeah, again, things are just really really busy right now. So I'll try to get on, say hi, maybe do a quick little update. Maybe I'll call Alissa or something on Sunday. The other thing is my step son's girlfriend graduated two weekend last weekend. Last weekend. Yeah, graduated last weekend from college weekends. Yes, so she just graduated college as well. And we are incredibly proud of her. They're just doing they're going on to do great, cute, big, awesome things, and I'm so incredibly proud of them. I'm I'm just really proud of all the young I don't want to say kids, because they're not kids. The young adults that we have in our lives have been doing a lot for themselves. Yes, I mean you're too. Your stepdaughter's fiance got her diploma, which is fantastic. Your stepdaughter is in school herself. She's continuing school that she has. She has decided to potentially look at other career paths, which is great. Like she's not she she would like to. It's not like a make a break for her, right, but. But they're doing things to better themselves. I don't care if you go to school. I don't care. My step son did not go to school. He did not take the traditional route. That's fine. He's doing fantastic for himself. I would also like. To question, like, whoever said that going to college after high school was a traditional route like. That that was ingrained in our generation, right, that you weren't going to make it in life if you didn't right. I think is totally unfair to say, because. I did not go to college right after No, I mean, look at. Look at your steps on. He's he is making it. He's doing wonderful things for himself. Worked so hard. But I'm so proud of him because he makes real good money. And it's not even good money like he as much as what he does is very hard on his body. I think he truly loves it. And I don't care if you take twenty years to find something you truly love. If you find something that you truly love and you're doing things that make you happy, then do it. Just do it right? So okay, Well, sorry, one more? Okay my cousin. Yes, what's the update with the cousin? I think she's on book six now, but she's listening to the Cory Girls even though we've ruined it. She knows everything that's going to happen. Oh, that's right, because she's listening. Yeah, she listens to it. But I think that's so cute. She keeps me updated with all her books. Love that. But in the big news, she got herself a kindle, so she's reading physically and she's listening. I love you. I'm so proud of her. I feel like this is did I maybe suggestic because I want to take over. She knew someone who's selling there, so she's like a moll. Yeah yeah, so. I mean honestly though, like when when I first when I first had my daughter, it was really hard for me to pick up physicals. So for me, it was so much. Easier to be able to put down a tablet yeah, rather than a book. Well she's got two wild boys, so just being able to just shut it off. And yeah yeah, I was just like put it down. Yeah. I can't do that with a book, Like I have to put the bookmarket, I have to put. It somewhere safe like this, I could just like go, yeah, I love it. Sorry, those are my updates. I said, let's be done, and then brought up fifty seven more things. But I'm literally gonna pee my pants if we don't stop. So I'm going to keep that in two so everyone knows. I don't care. Listen. That's so bad, so bad. We're so inappropriate. But I've been I've been sipping on my drink and I'm like, stop doing that. You're just making it worse. I know your leggage shaking. That's been shaking for like twenty five minutes. Okay, we need to go. I do, I do, need to go. Stop laughing. Okay, love you have fun. Thanks for listening. Bye,
