Welcome to Fetch and Catitude Book book Podcast. I'm Melissa and I'm Elise. This show is about two very best friends who love books but also love talking about life occurrences. Join us for the girl talk. It'll get real, it'll get fun, it'll get interesting. Sit down, buffle up, and let us talk to you about all the things. Hello, and welcome back. Guys. We're so glad to have you. Thank you for your continued listening. Even though we missed a week. My family ended up getting really sick with the stomach book. So yeah, my fiance and I got here and we were here for what ten minutes, and we're like, yeah, we're just gonna let you guys feel better. I was in bed and he can't. Your fianza came in and he was just like, hey, I'm gonna chat with you while you're laying in bed. And I'm like cool, Like I feel like junk, but thanks. But it was kind of good to I don't know. I felt like we came and were like, hmmm, we don't want them to up to. Take care of us. Well, I've told you, I told you already. I was like, no, I'm not taking care of you. Well, and we don't come here to expect you to take care of us. So this week we are in yet another location. We're gonna be talking about another book club update, because at this point we should. We are at chapter sixteen. Some of us have read through chapter seventeen. I read two chapter seventeen. Oh oh oh no, so somebody read an extra chapter. It's because I, for some reason on my Kindle I miss the chapter update at the top. I don't know why, like I automatically skip over it. And then I got to seventeen and I was like, oh, stop right now. But I think I got so sucked into this one, Like I'm getting so sucked into it now. Yeah, Like I want to know what happens. So we've got updates from our book club reed, we have maybe some more book news life updates which we kind of just gave you. I have a new game for us to play, which so exciting. I'm so excited. And a weekly discussion topic from the Jar that I made just so because we, honest to God, did not prepare much for this week. We've again been trying to get over all the sickness that has been going on. There's been a lot going on right now. We are currently in kind of the middle of the snowstorm happening. Yeah, people are calling it the snowpocalypse, which is fantastic. You know a lot of people have been like saying that this is the same as like the blizzard of ninety three, the Valentine's Day blizzard. Well there was a it wasn't nice three Because I was in middle school. I think the last time we had a Valentine's d blizzard. Yes, yeah, no, and I was two, like two thousand and six, right, m m, so two thousand, Yeah, it had to have been either five, six or seven. It was ninety six, two thousand and six, and now we're twenty twenty six. I think that's the way it's progressed. I don't know, though, I could be super wrong. Whichever. Anyways, we're in the middle of another blizzard. But we from being from up in the Northeast, we're kind of like used to this. Yeah, but they close schools tonight, which doesn't normally happen. No, that doesn't happen a lot, But it's good that they're being precautionary, right. I also personally didn't want to drive all the way to work just because like, I just know how people are. It's not even my driving necessarily, it is other people that I'm worried about, right, And like I don't have to go too far to drop my daughter off to school, but I just don't want to put her out on the road. I don't want to put myself on the road. I feel bad enough that my husband has to go to work, so which he will, he'll go, he'll he'll take his time though. But the other issue is the role that we travel on to go to work is not great, even in the summer. So it stresses me out because I mean, some of it still has the wood and line. They have metal guardrail, it's like the wooden who yes, yes it's it's not steel, it's the actual like post in wire. Yeah. And it's on some pretty steep drops, which stresses me out. Yeah, the one right outside of Callous Village when you're going downhill. No, that one sketches me every time. I think that's where my significant other wood sideways. Uh yeah, I don't, I don't know. I know the s curves out of town are extremely sketchy. Yeah. So but anyways, Yeah, so in this snow apocalypse, a lease and I and my mother traveled to Burlington today when we went to Bridal Expo and it was a lot and it gives me anxiety. It was. It was so much fun though. Uh yeah, all the snackies fans. Oh my gosh, I had a maple creamy. Guys like they have a maple creamy that will actually go to your venue and serve you maple creamies. Heck yes, that if I had splurged anything on my wedding, that would have been it. I wish you had tried that lemon bar. It was so freaking good, was it? It was so good. My mom said that the carrot cake was also fantastic. I see, I'm a sucker for carrot cake. I mean that might make me old, but so I was talking with my fance after the last one. I was like, oh my gosh, we tried this care cake. It was delicious. He's like, I'm not having carrot cake for my not doing that, you know, it's just telling you it was so good. I was so excited that I had good cake. He was not the worst part is he's the old man here. We just have old lady taste buds. Yeah. I can't even argue that. So, yeah, so you can clearly tell that we are feeling better. We are definitely much more energetic than we were lost. We're also not as cramped. We found a different closet. It's actually my master master class. And I'm sorry I ahead of time because we're feeling better. You get all of the giggles. I was gonna say, we didn't record last week because I was so sick and it just was not gonna happen. We were gonna try to record in the week, but there wasn't gonna be enough time for me to actually be able to. Yeah, and you guys still had the sickies. I wasn't coming here for that. I was gonna say, because our friend who lives above our garage, he got it like a couple of days after we had all gone over it. No, yeah, I didn't tell you that bit, but you weren't coming over that day either, No, thank you. It was a lot as you're sicky, It was a lot. We were just is going around. And when you have a toddler that goes to school with a bunch of other toddlers, you're just gonna have sickness almost year round. So yeah, we're just much more enjoyable to listen to this week. We're much nicer to each other. Well. Also, like last time, the last closet that we were in was so small, like we're. Sitting on the floor and our legs had to be all of any because there wasn't enough. You were touching me, How dare you touch now? But now we've actually got chairs, we got a desk in here, Like we have more room. Yeah, we have a lot more room. Yes, And if this works, then this is probably where you'll catch us until we move to the new game. I know right, No, I'm I'm so ready, but that's not until the snow is all gone and everything's all gone. I love you, but I'm not going down there in the snow. You're gonna have to when we moved down there. Great, we'll steal the track, drider. Can you imagine, like there's only one seat on that trucker. What are you going to ride in the fucking bucket? No, I'm gonna have your husband. Oh my god, we're gonna have to. We're gonna have to take pictures of like where this it is a treehouse, but it's got electric, it's got heat and it's a pretty like bougie treehouse. It's got TV down there. Yeah, I mean it's it's got a lot down there, but it would be the perfect space that isn't like in our house. And we didn't really know what to use the treehouse for. Honestly, we're gonna make it what a tiki bar to forget the water action. Up I left in because I leave a lot of stuff off you that's embarrassing. So I was like, well I might as well embarrass myself as soon as you said it, though you like stop or like wait, I knew. I knew it wasn't gonna be good. Oh so yeah, we've got we've got a lot going A lot of things are gonna change once the snow is gone, once it starts warming up, we're gonna move. We might end up starting to do some possible live feeds down there. We still have not gotten around to tiktoks or much of social media other than our time, but we are trying. The full time jobs kind of take most of our time. So and also like we're only together maybe once at least once a week, maybe twice a week sometimes, and half the time that we're together, I personally am usually in my so I mean, I am not much better in my grungey leggings. So oh my god, they're not though. So book Club update, we should all be on chapter fifteen, although one of us is on chapter sixteen or finished chapter sixteen. Although it was very hard for me to stop, I will say that I got to chapter sixteen I went no, no. Although I have to say this book, like before everything else, if you haven't started reading this, I would error on the side of caution, yes, because this book is heavy, heavy topics, and it doesn't really have trigger warnings in the front, does it. I don't think so, not that I remember it didn't have any. Yeah, but I would say that this book deserves some trigger warnings because this book does have topics of essay in it, and for certain people that is extremely triggering. I mean I got to it and I was just like, WHOA, did not expect this out of this right? I also hit to that point and I was like, Oha, wait what I mean? I probably could have expected it out of the book, but I didn't expect it to be that hard and heavy. And the fact that it's not necessarily just one scene either. This is like the last chapter. That chapter fifteen was difficult because it wasn't quite essay, but it was erring on the side of it. Yes, a lot of it is very strongly hinted at. It's not straight up said, but there is a lot of hinting about what could potentially be happening. I would know they don't say it. I was gonna say. There's at least three characters, actually, almost all the female characters in this book at least once or hinted at some of that. And that's why I'm like, you know, be cautious when you pick this one up. If you know that that is something that you do not want to read, do not read this book because it is. It is pretty hard. I will say, it's not as hard as some of the books that I've read. It doesn't quite get into those details, but it does talk about it. Yeah, there's no trigger warnings. Okay, I just went back and looked, Okay, so no trigger warnings. I think it probably should have a trigger warning just because it does talk about it. Yeah, and there's just some really innocent lives that you can tell her about to be upended, right right, because this is Yeah, it's a group of teenage girls that are in high school. I do have some theories as to the Beth situation and who that is. Oh same, this this really sealed it from me. Yeah, after the last few chapters, I definitely well, I mean I thought that to begin with, I was like, oh, well, this makes sense, But now that we're further in, I very much feel like I know what is going on with Beth. M h. I think, I mean, because it it does give some more hints. She never truly like describes her captor either like physical right, which I mean, that's the whole point I suppose is you're guessing until the end. It's a mystery thriller, but it gives hints. Yeah, But also I'm wondering if they're using that as a total twist. Oh and I'm sure I'm betting it's somebody like in the background that has been mentioned, although I do really suspect one specific person, but I think that is on purpose end, someone they're trying to say, oh, yeah, you thought it was this person all this time. Yes, there's also another person who it just could be because of all of the controversy around this. But there's one person who goes to the Girl's Show. After the show, I also suspected that actually because after summer camp they didn't want to talk, so that, yeah, that was a big indicator for me. I was just like, mmm, they didn't want to talk about it afterwards. It's supposed to be this fun little thing, but it really makes it almost ties back to the tunnels. I guess everything kind of ties back to the tunnels and what happens while they're in the tunnels. That specific area of the tunnels specifically says that is just there aren't many doors that are opened there because it's mostly adults that live in those houses. And that makes me really wondering if this is some sort like my mind automatically goes to some sort of cult type of situation. I didn't go cult situation, but I did go Sorry, this is a spoiler. Is Ed pimping out marine? That is also kind of my thought. But she's I mean, because that was the weird thing too. And this is again a spoiler. He didn't really hang out with Maureen at the party, but I see, That's what I'm wondering, is trying to get the girls other too. And that's why it makes me really wonder because it was almost like a queue for Aunt to take the main character and bring her to the cabin just to take her picture, take. Her picture, and then force her to remove her shirt, right, Like why again, these are high school kids, right? And I'm not saying that that sort of stuff like doesn't happen. I know that it does. But with this situation, Ed is so much older. Like it mentions that he's been in the service as well. Yeah, so I think it mentioned when they're in the woods. I think it mentions that he is in his twenties and their high school students, right, so, and it even mentions it in the book, like why is he hanging out with high school students? Right? The main character is very smart, I think for her age, and I think connecting a lot of dots that maybe most high schoolers wouldn't. I think that has to do with having to grow up faster because of the accident. Right and her mother, Yes, absolutely, because of the accident. Right. But I really do now that you say that, I actually that's a good hypothesis on it. I mean, this is why I kind of like having this is our first read, because we can kind of throw some hypothesis around. Yeah, I mean, it's part of the reason why I like mysteries anyways, because I like to keep guessing until the end, right, which I really think that this book is going to make us question. Yeah. The only other thing that I have going on in my head about this is the agent. Who is there that her dad? That so Ed definitely says, I know who your dad is? Right well, And that's just weird too. There's been a couple things said because the female main character her dad is the DA, and there's been some like stuff said from Ed who is I think supposed to be the villain but might not be the villain. Yeah, he has said some stuff. First off, red flags left and right? Oh right, like the stuff he says about her. First of all, I'd be like mm mmm, like, you're not talking about my dad, especially since he's the DA like that. No way. I understand that there are a lot of people that probably don't like das or judge parents stuff like that. I get that, but this just seems like out of left field. Why is he saying this? Also, why are your friends okay with him saying this? Yeah, I very much feel like he's brainwashing the two boys. Oh, I agree, and I think Ricky's more pliable. Aunt. I think will just do anything to fit in. Yeah, especially once they talk about how Aunts how she overheard Aunt's dad just being brought into him. I wonder if Aunt is coming from a very abusive household and just feels not safe. But oh, this older person likes me and he doesn't treat me like my dad does. Well, And I think the same situation happened Ricky because in a scene it is said that before the main character's mother got bad and got kind of sick and mentally ill, they brought Ricky's mom over a dish. Yeah, and she had clearly like obviously the main character was too young to put the pieces together at that time, but she sees it now his mother had been beaten up. So I'm really wondering if Ricky also came from an abusive household and that's how he finds like the men or the boys to help him bring women in. Yes, the only other thing, Oh, there was something else? Was it? Did we know his name was Cloudy? I told you this the first time we talked about it, and you said, no, it's Claude, and I'm like, no, it's always going to be clawde but I didn't realize it was cloud. Yeah, it was cloud but it's cloudy. No, they said it in it. That's why it's like the nickname is like cloudy, like you'd pronounced howdy, yeah, cloudy. I didn't catch that. Yes, I hate it. I know it should be Claude. It's claude. That is how it's spelled. It is claude. I know. I've read that part and I'm like, oh, this is gonna have something to say about this. Actually speaking on Cloudy, which is super funny that you mentioned that you had mentioned, uh the first time we talked about this, that he was one of your favorite characters, and I actually agree with you. Now I hate Maureen. I hate Maureen. I think i'd say I hate Maureen. I think Marine has been given a really really bad hand and as a child, does not know how to deal with it, so she's acting out. I also hate Barb. I don't really like any of them. I'm really worried. I am really worried that at some point the main character's sister is gonna get dragged into this whole mess. And I'm really worried that she's going to find her sister m hm. Because her sister acts just like Maureen. I will be traumatized a little bit. Having a younger sister myself, I will be a little bit upset about it. Yeah. I also thought that after the concert where he commented. M hm, not a fan. Yeah, oh, I'm gonna be traumatized. And unfortunately, if the author is listening to this, you've scarred us already. But great job, but great job. Totally off topic. I just need to tell you something. Okay, do you remember when we were searching high and low for the freaking ironing board. It's right there. No it isn't, Yes, it is no the things you'll find in my closet. Sorry, it just came out and I was like, no fucking way. So I will say, like, so this is completely off topic, but I am going to add this because it is like a snippet into our lives. So this past Christmas, Alyssa wanted to make a stocking for her grandmother. So my grandmother has handmade each and every one of the stockings for my family, and as we add people to the family, she continues making stockings. I I have never seen my grandmother open a stocking ever, so I have kind of. A similar tradition where when my step kids moved in with me, they didn't have stockings, and I just I thought it would be much more heartfelt if I made them, And stockings really aren't that hard. I'm also like, okay, I don't think they're that hard, not that hard. But also this was like a solid two and a half inches all the way around their Yeah. But to be completely fair, though, like my first one was not perfect, and mine came out just like that when I first started. I've learned along the way you make a certain amount of a certain pattern and you just you get it. I didn't. I'm not saying I didn't get it. I'm just saying it was cute. You did. Fine. So anyways, I've been making stockings for our family. We lost all of our Christmas decorations, or the majority of them, in the flood of twenty three, so I ended up having to make pretty much everything over again, which is fine. It is what it is. It sucks, but it doesn't happen. I've also been asked by several people to make stockings for them. My sister has suggested that I make stockings your round and then sell them in Christmas time, which I mean we could do oh we could. I'm just like, it's really hard to get Christmas fabric. Yeah, but we could do sports teams. I mean people do Oh my my step my step son's stalking is one hundred dollars bills. I just thought what I thought it was cute. I was like, well, what do you want? Like, he was like, I don't know. So I was like, money, Monday, Monday, Monday money. So so yeah, we just I had been searching for this ironing board to try and kid it because I wanted to iron out all of our fabric, and well we just found it. Yeah, it just caught myt I was like, you've got to be kidding me. We start high and low for like forty five minutes for that Stu. I can't even look at here. I don't think I did. But we looked in the closet that we were in last week though, Yeah, I know, right. So yeah, I think that's our update for this week. Next week we will talk about, well briefly talk about the next five chapters up until chapter twenty or through twenty to twenty one through twenty to twenty one stop at twenty one stop at twenty one. Christ, No, I don't think you are. Oh actually, because once I realized, I was like, oh no, no, no, stop speaking of you being sorry. Oh what how many books have you read? I don't know. No, don't even start with that bullshit. You know exactly how many you've read? Read co fuck yourself. My goal is fifteen for the month, okay, and I'm behind leave me alone, the world's smallest violin, I swear to fucking God, Like seriously, I've read two and they are both audiobooks, so technically I'm not even reading them. They're being read to me. I don't have small children, and I do not sleep. I will forever tell you that I woke up at three o'clock. This morning, and it will make me not feel any less guilty. But this is the perfect example. I don't care how fast you read. I don't care how many books you read. I know and will say it until we're blue in the face, or at least you will. I'm gonna always be like, shut up, shut your face. I understand that I read. It's not that I read fast. I just don't do anything else that's fair. I mean, my fiance literally bought me large beanbags, like the spot could be comfortable to read my book. So I really did consider when we moved down to the treehouse, I really consider just getting beanbag chairs. And I'm like, there is no way that one We're gonna be able to sit still enough or I actually it mold around me. And then I'm like a perfect Oh, I know, but I mean just like talking to each other, like this is never going to be quiet enough. We're always going to be trying to look at each other. And could you imagine like beanbag chairs have a certain sound. No, this one doesn't really. Yeah, it's because it's chunks of memory phone. Oh even better. Yeah, but here's the what which is I think I told you this. I think I sent you a text yesterday. So yesterday my fiance and I went to look at some morning stuff and we went to breakfast a late breakfast after and I had one mimosa. And by the time we got home, I ate my ice cream pie so happily at home and then I got snuggled up with my heated blanket in my bean bag getting ready to read, and I was out cold for I don't even know what happened. So yeah, she doesn't sleep unless it's like when she's not supposed to be sleeping. I don't know. I don't have any idea. Like I got so comfortable I had my book, Like I must have not even moved because my book and my phone were. Still on the sides. Yeah. Hard Well, okay, so here's the other thing too, Like yesterday would have been the perfect day to actually get some reading done. I have thirty minutes left of my next audio book, so I'm gonna have three done by the end of the month. I'm trying my hardest to finish my physical book. I just haven't picked it up in a while, but yesterday would have been the perfect day to do that. You just need to take a break. I think you need to put it down and start another one. Oh no, no, no, no, not that one. Okay, no, no, this is Lightlark. I'm reading Light Lark, not between two Kings. I did take a break from that because it was just a lot of words on one page for me. At this point, I think I'm going to pick it up again. I just I have Lightlark. I've been trying to read Light Lark for a while. I'm trying to push through some of the books that I've picked up before and put down. Yeah, so I'm trying to get through that one. I have the second book of that series. There is a third one. I have not gotten that one. So I'm going to try to read at least the two and then I am really going to try to read older again. I am struggling through that one, but I am This is my year of pushing through books until like, because I did push through my audiobook too. Yeah, and now I like, I like love it. See. This is my year of allowing myself to not finish them if I don't like them. See, we are totally on two different spectrums here. But I have never allowed myself to not finish a book and then so I've never allowed myself. To not finish a book and then not go back and read it. So I this year, if I do not like it. I am putting it down and I am not giving it another chance. Yes, life is too short, there are too many books. I'm not doing it all right, well, and I I think that's perfectly fair. I just I want to give these books specifically a chance, because I know that they are good books. I just really like I have always been the type of reader if it. If a book doesn't hook me within the first chapter, I'm done, Like it's not interesting enough for me. And that sucks because as someone who is trying to write their own book, Like I reread my first chapter and I'm like, who wrote this? It wasn't me? Well it was me, because yeah it is me, but it's hard, Like I get that, and that's why I'm trying to give some of these other books another shot. I've spent my whole life giving books another shot, and at this point. I don't have the space for it. I need to just if I do not enjoy it, I need to be done with it. And that's fine as another topic as well. At some point here, I am still planning on interviewing some people. Yes, I think I want to do this as like a side kind of project, just interviewing some of our friends. Family. You need to bring beyond oh b yeah, hi ve heavy. Actually I was just about to say, like, there's one specific coworker of Alyssa's that is a very loyal listener. Hey girl, I love you, and that is one, Like I have a list of interview questions that I would like to ask. I have specifically asked my mother as well. I would like to ask your mom, but I'm just not sure she is. I mean, she even admitted today to us that she hasn't read in a while, and she's it's just not where she is in life. She used to be a voracious reader. She would read all the time. My dad and my mom are both wonderful readers. But I think that life changes you. And Okay, I think I would like to bring my sister on as well, because so my sister is the type of person and if she's listening, hey, how we love you too. So my sister is the type of reader. She actually was not a reader early on in life. She just could not pick up a books. She did not want to do it. It was almost like if you had to force her to read, she wasn't going to do it. She had to do it on her own. And when she found the type of book that she liked, oh my goodness, she was in love with it. And I'm not actually that should be one of my questions to her is like, what book was the first book that got you into reading? I also want to pull her on because she texted me yesterday that she has a bunch of book box subscriptions now and I would love to talk to her about them. Ooh yeah, because we had talked about them at family Christmas. Yes, and I was like, I'd love to hear it, and she sent me a hole of sure, and she's like, hey, by the way, these are the book boxes I have. If you ever want to talk about them on the podcast. Oh yeah, girl, we need to have you here. Yeah. No, we should absolutely schedule something with her. Yeah. So, but I I want to do all of this when we have more space. Yes, Like, I'm not going to force any of them to be in my closet, to sit in my closet with all my like my socks. Well so you know that I took. Well that's different, so far removed from that whatever. So I think that's one of the things, like we keep adding to our list of things that we want to do, and that's fine. I just I don't want to get too ambitious. And I say that, and yet here I am. I think it's fair to want to interview people and hear their thoughts. Well, I mean, the whole point of a podcast really is to have a conversation. That's why having your own podcast as a single person is often very challenging because usually you're lecturing at that point. It's not a conversation, and it's lecturing to an invisible audience, which is I mean that is still very difficult here because we are talking to the audience. Hi, Hey, I'm so glad you're here. Thanks so much for joining us a lot whatever. We told you there was girl talk involved. Okay, you signed up for this, but the worst part is they didn't actually sign up for this. Well, I mean they keep coming back, so that's some people do again, high family, Hybee. You know what, I'm actually really proud. I am really proud of this. So we have analytics on our podcast host and I will say we I think have gotten the entirety of New England at this point. Whoa yay like our neck of the woods. Hey, guys like you're awesome Like you guys are absolutely phenomenal, and we are absolutely proud to be from the northeast. It's great up here. But I can tell you, oh wow, I haven't checked this in a hot minute. I'm impressed. We have had eighty three downloads, which for only having three episodes out days now, that's really good. But I will say so in terms of geographics because I have that information too. All of our listeners are coming from the United States, which are I mean that was going to happen. I thought there was one outside of the US. So there is one from poor high Portugal listener, We're very happy to have you. So unless they unless they speak English, like, we're not gonna understand those well. I mean in many countries have to learn English as well or sure, which why the United States does not start us as younger like kids learning a second language. I'll never understand. But that's just me. But yes, we have Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. And as like a offshoot of that, we have we have two listens from Florida and a new one actually where Georgia. Awesome. I love this, like I honest to god, this is my favorite portion of this hosting platform because I can see where our listeners are. Like, we knew that most of our listeners are going to be family and friends, so we knew that everybody was going to be from like our state. But to now have the entire Northeast, that is awesome. I'm waiting for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I'm waiting for that one. I'm honestly, I'm surprised that we haven't gotten anybody from California yet, but I'm waiting for it. So on our socials, do you want to see something super awesome? I won't tell the numbers because I don't feel like that needs to be said. No, but this is in the last fifteen days. Okay, look at the top number. What how I don't know. That's so cool though. That's a large number. That's a large number. Like, I'm not joking like our views lately, because we started this, we did not expect this to get like international. We're not expecting for that. We really aren't. We're trying to be as humble about this as possible. It's just fun for us, That's what it is. This is here for fun. Oh right, I was gonna say this is for us. I mean it is for you guys to enjoy us as well, because we we think we're we have good personality, are pretty cool. I think we don't know we are. People looking at us are like I have to be around never mind like clicks out of it. But but I find that so cool. Yes, I know. Again, I don't feel like we need to share numbers or anything, but that was a large number. That was a large number I looked at in the past fifteen days, the last fifteen days, like comparatively to what we had been getting, that's like almost ten times. That's one hundred percent more. No, I understand that, but that's like ten times what we had been getting in the past, like fifteen days before that. And that's awesome. Like again, we just started this at the beginning of the year. We've almost been doing it for a month, I know, so for us, that's Honestly, I'm a little bit terrified of that number. I also I'm a little terrified of that number. I don't think that it's new viewers. I believe that it's if people keep coming back, which is still fantastic. We're glad you guys keep coming back. I will say as well. I have the analytics for sources that people listen on. Most of it is through our platform, like our hosting platform. Yesterday, we had I think one on Spotify. Okay, two, this is a new one for me. I haven't seen this one before. Two on Alexa Media Players weird. Okay, So like echos and stuff like that's I don't know, somebody let us know that they're listening on their echo player, because that is awesome. I didn't know you could do that. Yeah, no, I knew that you could do that because my daughter does it all the time on our echo Okay, She'll go over and play with it and like it'll just pop up. Maybe it was maybe it was her, I doubt it, or she turned on. She's like, oh yeah, no, oh no, she's turned on toilet like Taylor Swift before. I'm like, girl, like, I came in, Like it's not very loud either for us because we have the volume turned down, but she like I came in one night to go to bed, and I'm like, where's that music coming from? Oh my goodness. Okay, off topic, so off topic. So Alisa and I had a dance party. Oh, we are girls and we will do what we like to do. And the dance party in the bathroom. Their bathroom is very large, okay, And Alisa's daughter came in and just was loving life and would wait for the beat to drop and then would throw her body around. It was so cute. Well, what two weeks later, Alisa was in the shower listening to music, and she pops her head out of the shower to come out, and her daughter is dancing in the bathroom, and I'm so excited that we're creating another generation of like white girl dancers, not even white. Like sometimes a bathroom dance party is the best dance party. Sorry, it's true. Oh yeah no, and that's just like where my speakers are, so it's just the best place. So I'm actually really I just went through the geolocation again. We have one listener in Boston. Oh, hey, you know who the listener in Boston is? Hey, oho, Well no, it actually like it does separate out like towns, so I'm actually surprised that it wouldn't say the actual town. Yeah, but she's close enough, I suppose. Yeah, but hey, I'm so glad you listen. We also would love to talk to you about oh my gosh, she should yes, yes, So there's a good portion of my family we need to get on my cousin and her fiance because it's really funny. Her fiance likes a lot of the books that I read. Oh okay, that's cool. Well okay, so just oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they would be fun would be fun. I don't actually know if they listen. I don't know if they know that this is a thing. I don't either, but I do need to talk to them because that would be so much fun for them to join us on this. Yes, so we need to get more interviews going because I think that would be fun every once in a while. And if we do get enough interviews going, we could do like one a month or whichever. But speaking of some fun stuff, I'm ready. Are you ready for this? Which when you want to do first the game or do you want me to draw the question? I want to know. I want to do my game first because I get to pick the question, even though I picked the last question. Two. I'm sorry excited, So I did like snag this off of Pinterest. But we are going to play Never Have I Ever? Bookworm edition even better? So we will let you know when we have done it. Okay, I'll read it and then you'll say if you've done it. Okay, there are thirty eight question Okay, I'm ready, kid, Never have I ever dropped a book on your face while reading? I've done that. It's the worst. One is the Kindle. I was gonna say, her phone so, so, my daughter has a tablet, and for a while there before she ended up getting her kid's tablet, she would use my kindle just it was the Amazon Kid's profile. Well, it has a strap on the back because it's my kindle, so I use the strap to hold it. Well, she uses her feet to hold this kindle and it fell off her foot once and smacked her face. She had a bruise under her eye. I had just heard that. I had to explain to her teacher bringing her to school the next day. I'm like, I swear to God, I don't hurt her. Like, but the worst part about it is you heard it fall and hit her. And she went, uh, do anything, and for like a solid thirty seconds and then she burst into tears. Yeah. It was like, oh what happened? Okay, So keep track of your points, okay, okay. Never have I ever hit a book you were reading? Yeah? Absolutely. I feel like we talked about this last time. Some people don't need to know everything well side conversational. So my boss, we have a new breakroom and it's in our little area, okay, And. She was like, oh, I'd love to get love to get a bookshelf for it. Here alyssa love story, no love to read. And I was like, bro, you don't want my books. You don't want my books, and she went, oh, I don't want her books. I was like, no, you do not want my books. At least you have a breakroom. We don't even have that. Well we didn't. Oh this is newly established. Yeah, we need one of those. We need like just a space where we can go in eaten ship. Okay. Question three? Never have I ever lied about what you're reading? Yeah? That's all the time. Okay, this one, I think is the first one for me that I actually have not done. Are you ready? Never have I ever read Fifty Shades of Gray more than once? I also, I don't think I've ever done that. Have you never read it? I've read the first three? Okay, how many are there? Well, they're really in the main series, there is only three, but then there's a separate series from Christian Gray's perspective. I've read the first three, I think, and that's it. I only read it once, so I didn't need to read it again. I feel like for a lot of people that's what sparked their adventures into no I oh, yeah, I know that, but I mean for some people that is what sparked. Those books really did spark a lot of people going into that genre. Yeah no, not me ever. Have I ever dnf to book? I have DNF to book. I just dnf a book, I know, and it's killing me on the inside. I know you're dying a little bit, aren't you, am? But I'm not going back for you to I refuse good for you. I have DNF to book. I mean, I again, we just talked about this. I I okay, that's not true. I did dnf another book, one of the ones I just dnf so that this is too within the last year. Yes, the first one I dnf'd was because it was about a motorcycle club and the author was spelling it mortar cycle. And all I can think of is like mortars, like in the like war. Yeah. I know how much time and effort it takes to write a book, but if you're writing a book about something you should sell? Correct? Is this an indie author because so they had editor. I don't understand them mortar cycles. I'm not even sure if that's like proper spelling, even in like UK English. I don't know. I don't know. I don't think so, but I have to tell you, I, oh, I've readed cooking it and again, somebody correct us if we are wrong, Like, please call us out on that, because if it is actually a proper pronunciation in like UK English, because I know some things, like again, I know enough to be like, Okay, it's the boot of the car, that's the trunk. I get that part right, but that doesn't seem right to me. Mo rto r C y c l E border cycle. Who didn't catch that? Like throughout as far as I read, No, I wouldn't have been able to finish it either, because I would have been pissy with it. I was so I was like I wanted to read it so badly and I just it was at the point where I was like so frustrated. Yeah, huh, Okay. Never have I ever dreamed of a book friend. I have not. I haven't either, and I'm really disappointed in that. I've dreamed that I've been in the book, but I've never dreamed of a book boyfriend. You know your fiance listens to us. I know he does because he is also a loyal listener. He's gonna be very happy that you did not dream about your fictional men. My husband would be like, whatever, just do it. Never have I ever complained about a book turned movie. We just had this conversation. Actually, so my husband mentioned that there, whether it's true or not, there is a teaser on social media for Ready Player two. No, and I looked at him and I'm like, I'm not gonna have this conversation with you. The first one was shit, we're not doing it now. So yes, I guess I have done that. So that's five we're was I wanna say, we've actually agreed on all of these so far. I don't know this would have been met today if we had gone to Barnes and we chose to not go to Barnes and Noble, to not buy books. And I want everyone to be proud of that, to be responsible adults. I still have a gift. It's like being an addict. Okay, you don't put yourself in the situation where you know you're gonna like rebound, like relapse. You just don't do it. But I want to do so but that's what I'm saying. Okay, So, never have I ever went over your book budget? I didn't realize there was a oh no, So I mean probably, but I don't said a budget for myself. Are you ready for this one? You're gonna out yourself on this one. I'll allow myself to It's like only fair. Never have I ever claimed a book boyfriend. I don't know if I've. Claimed a book boyfriend, but I've definitely said this is my favorite of the series. Which I do want to do with you one of these days, because that is a huge like I want to do that on TikTok actually because I think that would be fun, so I will count it. I don't think I've claimed a book boyfriend, but I have definitely said out of the series, this is my favorite. I feel like I don't claim one. She claims all of them. I was gonna say, I have a harrem. I have a horm like all the book the harem of all the book boyfriends, so I wouldn't say I claimed a book boyfriend. I also kind of have the same thing where I have my favorites out of the series. Yeah. Never have I ever cried while reading, however, cry all the time alone. I cried while I read Exodius absolutely bald. And I'm laying on the couch reading this and my husband looks at me and he goes, are you seriously crying? And I'm like yeah, and he goes over a book and I'm like yeah, like you don't understand. My fiance has like a man, but like, bro, are you good? No? No, what is wrong in the book? And he's like, oh, okay, they don't get it. They don't get it. Never have I ever made someone read your favorite book? I hate this, kid, I do. I have most definitely made you read my favorite book at that time and you hated it. Maybe I'm so glad you read my favorite series I made you. Is she happy about it though? Yeah? But I still made it very clear that she had to read my series you would hate. You'd be like, this is not it for me? Yeah? Probably not. Never have I ever followed your favorite author online? That's not fair. Goodreads makes you do it to get the bookmark. No, I'm thinking like on TikTok on Facebook, I do follow a couple authors. Yes, so I guess that for me is true. I don't necessarily have a favorite author. Let's okay, let's put it this way. Do you follow El Kennedy on Good Read? I don't think El Kennedy has anything else if she was on Facebook and TikTok. Also, I follow meganquin on everything. Okay, yes I know you did, because you made me look up one of her TikTok's ones. I like, Okay, those authors as well, like Megan Quinn and el Kennedy Alyssa, will pay anything to talk to you both. Excuse me. One time I commented on someone's TikTok about how Meghan Quinn's new book was phenomenal because they were trying to decide which one to read next. Yeah, Qui she just like, thank you so much for the support. I love hearing how much you love my books. I do love that, though, I mean I took a speech of it, so that's my father. I was like, I do love that though. I love that so excited. I love that so much for you. I do because I get the same way though, when like some of my favorite creators will like write back to me or even just liking my comment, I'm like, I'm so right, you saw me. But I mean I would absolutely Again, I'm not saying that this is going to get anywhere, but if we had the opportunity to interview authors, I would die. Do you know how like shell shocked that I would be. I would fan girl heard. I don't even care what it is. I'd be like, oh my god, thank you. I know anything at all, I know, I would absolutely First of all, that for me would be a huge learning curve in terms of editing. I don't know how I can barely edit shit now. I would struggle bus So I really should invest in, like taking an editing class. I really should, because I've done. Okay, I really think that I figured out the mics this time. I don't think Alyssa's softer. Yeah, I think I might be louder than you this time, which is fine. You can have the fucking spotlight because you say that I won't the split lighter to the drug. Shut the fuck up. Well, my fiance says that I talk quieter than a mouse fart, So if I sound really loud to myself, then maybe I'll probably be the same. Okay, So this girl also looks at me and like when we first started editing, First of all, you were very nervous anyways. Second of all, you were just like, well, I feel really caustophobic with it in my face, girl, put it in your face. Oh golly, Okay, Next, one. Never have I ever fangirled over an author. I think I just did. I think I feel like for us die hard book fans, like we have all fangirls. I mean, granted, I would really like to go to like a book con. We've talked about doing this. You've talked about going to the one in is it New York? Yeah, and I would love to do that. I would also love to go to a book signing. Again, we live in such a remote area. It doesn't happen a lot for us. No, Like we have to travel in order to do these things. And we are hoping again if this does end up making us some sort of like funds. Most of our funds are going to go into traveling for the podcast. Yeah, and that's fine. I would love that because for us that's an adventure. But I would love again to meet authors to They don't even have to know what we're doing with our podcast. They don't have to know that. I just want to meet you and say hi, and that I appreciate that you wrote something that I really enjoyed. So like Geneva Rose goes to all of the Barnes and Nobles around her and science books yep, and does it in the airports. I think that is the coolest thing. I so as someone who is a diehard reader, but also somebody who all her life has written like books, and so like I've written a lot. Have I ever published? No? Do I want to maybe, But as as someone who sees her doing that too, I'm like, how cool would that be? Yeah? How cool would that be? Like? And just it's not even a sense of entitlement. It's just like I did this, Like for me, that would be like, how cool would it be to have somebody who enjoy you're reading to go up pick up your book? See it's a signed copy that isn't listed in the signed copy like editions? Yeah, that would be snatched that. I check all books now, I check them all. Oh, I don't know if I've done this one. Never have I ever waited up for a book to hit your kindle? Nope, I've never done that. So I know a lot of people that I followed that did that. For the New Lord's series book Chaotic, a lot of people had it like read before the morning, Like it came out at midnight. People were reading it and finished it at like four o'clock in the morning, and I'm like, stop it, like I love so I am now ready to purchase this book because I have That was one of the books that I just finished was Madness. I'm ready for Chaotic. I'm like, I get again. I have bills. I I have a toddler that is in her berry and grapes, era and gogurt and yeah the new thing. But that's because like she was going through the popsicle, Yeah, go goirt's a little bit healthier. So whatever, it's fed fed. She's eating something right. She doesn't want to eat dinner. We all know that. It's a fight. It's funny. So every time we're here Atlas, we'll go girl friend time for dinner, and she'll go she'll go, are you hungry? And her daughter will go no, just like plain as day. And again I should say, like, my daughter is very speech delayed. She's three and a half. She chooses to speak on her own accord. But the biggest thing is like telling me no, like with any toddler. So the other thing is she doesn't do it nearly as much as she was doing it. Though. One day, Alisa and I were talking about something and she's like, oh, I have to finish them. I was like, okay, hop two and then her daughter. Started saying hop to hop to, and I hope, I'm that freaking Hilary. I'm glad you do, because because I do not find that funny, you don't have to live with it. I would pay to live with that. She is so cute an hour. Never have I ever pulled out your kindle at a party. Yes, it's not my kindle, but the app on yep. Okay, Well, I feel like that's still the same if you pull up the kindle app In general, it doesn't have to be your kindle, but if you're reading at a party. I got caught reading actually on the bench when I was playing softball. My mom was mad high school. Yeah it was so it wasn't like my high school team. It was actually our our summer ball and I wasn't playing like I was not a starter at the time. I was very young. Well, I pulled out my book because I was like, this is boring, and oh I got a talking to. I gotta tell him to I can see it. But I mean then again, I so I coached soccer for one of the high schools around here, for seventh grade boys soccer gross I did it one because I was at the time interested in coaching sports. I have been. I've said it online and I've said I think here on the podcast. I'm into sports. I really enjoy sports. I've played sports pretty much all my life. Well, I was like, well, this is a good opportunity for me to like dip my toes into coaching. See if it's a good fit for me. Seventh grade boys were probably not the greatest to start out with, but you know what, that was the only availability that had and I got it. But I caught one of the boys reading on the bench and I actually talked to him afterwards and I said, hey, I know this isn't your thing. And I did give him the ultimatum during the game, which I caught him and I said, you either put the book in your bag and you sit on the bench with everybody else, or you continue reading and you're not playing. And he said that's fine, I'm not playing. And he clearly didn't want to be there, and I felt really bad. This kid needed to be He even told me he's like, I'd rather be in like the anime club after school, or I want to be in the computer lab, and that's just that was his thing, and that's fine. Like some people are just not athletics. Some people have just different interest and that is okay. If I'm running, you better be running too, because I. Am not a runner either. Like again, because I played sports. I played soccer. I was the goalie for a reason. Again, if you see me running, you best turn around and hall ass too, because I am being chased by something. Yeah, I mean I so in high school, I did soccer. I did basketball for a little while, but basketball was not my thing. In high school, I did cross country with a few of my friends because one I was with some of my really good friends too. Uh. It kept me in shape, and I found that the environment and community with cross country skiing was so much better than the basketball community. And that's again, that's my progative. It's not everyone's progative on it, because some people really enjoy that community. It just wasn't for me. I was junk at cross country skiing. I was last every time, and that's fine, but everyone was cheering for me at the end. It wasn't just my school, it was everybody, and I loved that the support was there. It's mostly because a lot of the times unless you were doing team races. You were there competing against yourself. You were there trying to be yourself and your time. It wasn't necessarily for me at least, and people knew this. It wasn't about me getting the States. I was not going to. I knew that I didn't want that for myself. And then my favorite sport growing up was my softball. My team won our state championship in junior year. That was a huge thing for me. It was probably the last year that I really enjoyed high school sports. But my time with softball has been kind of an I've always been surrounded by it. Yeah, my father and my mother, that's actually how they met was in softball. Well, I mean it's not quite how they met per se. They knew of each other, but they did play in a softball tournament and that's how they kind of started talking, which is cute. But ask my fiance about honey ham not going there. That's how we bonded at softball. M hm, honey hams, It's true. I know. So when I was younger, I used to go watch my dad play a lot of softball. I don't I don't think my mom was playing at that time. She might have been when I was really really little, But I remember going to. Watch dad and you watched my fiance play a little bit, or you guys read normally on the same team. I was gonna say, I actually played a lot with your fiance. He's actually part of the reason I got into co ed, which I don't play anymore. I've been at to play every year since I had my daughter, but I just don't feel like I could commit, and I don't want to do that to the team. I would like to show up every week instead of bailing, right, And I love that they want to include me. I love that they want me a part of the team. And I'm humbled by the fact that they want me because major decent, just decent. Though, thanks but thanks, But I did really enjoy playing softball. For me, co Ed kind of got a little bit caddy. It just wasn't as fun as it used to be. So would I do it again? Sure? I do miss it from time to time. And we'll put you, We'll put you in my fans back on the same team. Oh my god, No, that's a bad idea. But the one person who runs my previous co ed team he'll get a hold of me every year and ask, and he does. He continues to this year. I actually was the first year I told him that I thought I was hanging out my glove and that killed me. So I wish I could get back into it. I mean, if ever, like the Boston Red Sox want me to co and throw a first pitch, I'll pick my glove back up. I will absolutely you want me come throw that pitch. I was not a pitcher, but I'll make it happen. It'll get there, It'll get somewhere around home, but she'll get it there. It won't rule. I can at least throw it that far. You're rude, You're rude. You picked this. I mean, if any of the Boston teams want to invite me to you know again, like I'm super into sports, like I can throw football. You listen in New England when this goes out next week, we're gonna have to record earlier. Yeah, because we are fully doing a huge which is wild because there's not very many No, there's too much. There's too much food, not enough people. We're doing a whole charcooterie board, but it is not a board. It's gonna be the end of my kitchen island. I'm and we're gonna have park. We're gonna and someone's making chili. Yeah, we should probably bake some potatoes for the chili. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. We don't need to do it. We've already got too much going on. Yeah, but my fiance is gonna be in freaking heaven. Oh so I'm so excited. I'm so excited. You have no idea how excited. I am. So New England, stop it just because you are a Commander's fan. We're gonna we're gonna throw hands. You and me are gonna throw hands, Okay, okay, to be complete, to be completely fair, okay, if we're turning this into a total like sports podcasts now. I grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, which is worse for you. But one of my exes that I dated, his whole family was like split dead's like middle of their family. Half of them were forty nine Ers fans. Half of them were Patriots fans, and I did like at that time, it was Tom Brady, Gronk and Edelman and Amidola. I got into football because I was around them, and I just I fell in love with some of these players. I actually knew their names, and that for me was a huge thing because football wasn't never my thing until I was an adult. But I can tell you I do know how to throw football. You want to play catch, I'll play catch with you. Well. See, here's the thing. I was really excited to name my fantasy my not even our Pickham's teams. Teams that art that arts. Yeah, well, coincidence ear, it's got real earth, a real earth. It's ironic and you manifested that. And he should sue the two betties I could rub together. I am also like not, I am not a hockey person, but Bruins, I'm all there. I've actually never been to a hockey game. I ever, I've never actually even been to a like a high school game. I think that I would really enjoy it. Oh, I think you would too, But I've never been, and I really really like to go. So my dad used to take me to all the Montreal Expo games because it was one it was it was right there for us. We can travel there. It was a cheaper game because it was up in Canada and it was a major League baseball team, so we would go and see them. We saw him play Boston Red Sox went and saw them play the Blue Jays at one point, Like we enjoyed that as a father daughter thing. Yeah, I've been down to Boston to watch the Red Sox I think three times now. I would love to go more personally, though I don't enjoy Boston. I don't enjoy Boston driving. I enjoy Boston culture. Do not enjoy Boston driving. That's why we should take the train. I'm all for that. I'm all for that. We need to do some more adventures. But anyways to finish this, since we're already over an hour, should we only do half of this list and then do the other half next week? Ooh, that's a good idea. Okay, Okay, so I have a couple more. This is the last one. Two we got two more, okay. Never have I ever gone to a book signing? No, but I would like to. No, we just did this one because we talked about Geneva Rose. Yeah, but we didn't actually like No. I also have never gone to a book signing, but I would love to. But I would love to. Anybody want to, like, fund a GoFundMe to go. Hey, fund us to go get a book signed. Mister Devereaux, if you could please do a book signing, that'd be really that would be okay. And our last one, which is kind of ironic. Never have I ever joined a book club? Well, congratulations, yes you have. Yeah. So our last thing that we're gonna do, I should add like theme music, all I'm picking is John Cena music me okay. So Alyssa had the pleasure of picking the first one out of the jar. What is our discussion topic this week? And I am going to post it onto our Facebook page. Please join us in answering. Are you ready? No favorite reading snacks and beverage. Oh, I'm so glad you picked this one first too, t I. Know you don't like I know, but also this sounds ridiculous because I hate when my fingers are dirty when I'm. Reading cut Toritos. I love Dorito's, and my grandmother makes homemade Chex mix. And also I could probably gain fifty pounds from the amount of check mix I've been eating. Yep, So I think on that sort of line, uh, tea or coffee or if it's later in the evening, I might have a beverage. It's usually if I'm reading, it's wine, which is highly ironic considering my stepdaughter and her fiance bought me two, not one, two wine tumblers. Oh my goodness. So Alica and I were reading Hard to Believe. One night we were at the house and we had mixed drinks, and all of a sudden we turn around and your daughter was like, ah, like wanting it so bad, and we're like, oh, sweetheart, no, And she was so mad at us because she can drink out of the big girl cup. Yeah, she saw a straw and she was like, oh, drink for me. We were like, no, drink for us, drink for us. And it always they're always on the counter far enough that she can't grab them. I was gonna say, I think I've only had one time where I had placed my cup down on like the coffee table, and she had gone up to it thinking and I caught her. Yeah. I was just like, girl, no, but we know better than that, because she is a drink thief. No, this girl will drink her her own weight every day. Yeah. She was so freaking mad at us, like so mad because we're like no, right, and we don't get to we don't say no like I mean, yes, we say no, but not like no, Yeah, I think we scared her. I think so. But in terms of snack, I don't. I don't know. I don't do a lot of snacking when I'm reading, to be completely honest. But if I had to choose anything, I'm not proud of this seaweed. No, but I do. I do eat a lot of that. Actually, No, So this one is ice cream, like pints of ice cream. I'll sit there and read and eat pints of ice cream. Or like I actually will eat like dinner and I'll have my candles set up. I've been really in a like an apple and peanut butter fix, so that's what I've been eating a lot of the times. Or trail mix. I'll do trail mix, like if I'm up at camp reading that's usually or just chips in general. No, at camp. We don't do a lot of crackers at our house, like we just don't. At camp. We get better chatters. Oh and eat the whole box of better chedtters while I'm reading, yep, and not even realize it. Oh yeah, that's me. With like cheese, it's if I have cheese, it's around and I'm gonna be eating those and reading absolutely So for Christmas, you guys got me a bag of high choose. I want to make it very clear your Christmas gift that was all me, even like all of all of your fiancees gifts, that was all me. Oh my gosh. He put the plaque on his desk and his the big boss was like, who got you that? And he was like, I'm not gonna ask him about that. Oh lord, that's great. So I bought my cousin a my fance, Yeah, a plaque, another plaque for his desk. Like you know how people have like name plaques for their desk to show off who they are and whatnot. Well, I got my cousin one and it says the World's most Humble Genius desk of a humble genius. Oh that's what it is, stupid. And I automatically saw this and I thought, yeah, that is him to a t. And he's listening to this. He's gonna be like, oh my god, I know he loves us so much. Okay, and he tells on me when I talk about my husband and the fact that like my husband will be like, so he just told me that you said this on the podcast, and I'm like, why why are you sharing this? Also, your husband has decided that everything that goes wrong in his life is my Oh okay, let's talk. Okay, okay, we're doing this. They were talking tonight and I don't know, the conversation came up, what would happen if my husband and I split up and your fiance decided to tell all of us that it's okay, he'll bring him around, just not when I'm around. Oh yeah, we have to set up a schedule, like divorce kids. What in the fuck is going on here? The like, I hm, I understand that, Like we joke around saying like we're platonic wives or whatever. This what they have going on is not okay. I'm putting my foot down. I hear that. You hear that, sirs, Well, one of them isn't because my husband's not supportive and doesn't listen. Not that he's not supportive, he just deals with our shit enough that he's like, I'm not listening to a recording of your ship. He's like it's like he's like he has an hour of complete peace. It's an hour where he doesn't have to listen to tackle I'm sure they can hear us through the door. That sucks for them. No, oh golly, but yeah, so welcome to our lives. Like apparently our husbands are husbands and we're wives. It's okay. But again, now I know exactly how my cousin felt when we came home, like really first, yeah, I know, poor him. No, it is not poor him, if anything, it's poor me. Bitch. You chose again, I will tell you that every single time you chose this. So my stepson was visiting yesterday and the joke. Used to be he used to say to me all the time, well you chose this, you chose to have us around, and you know what I very much did. But oh my goodness, ass coming off of this kid and I okay, So to be completely one hundred percent, yes, I chose a lot of these things in my life. Do I regret it? No, she's lying. She regrets me every single day. I wish you could see my face. I mean I could take a picture and posted if you want me to. I feel like we're going to have to like the many faces of Elise, because are the ones of me full mouth open. This is why we need to do like, oh my god, like that picture at our friend's wedding. Oh my god, that would be hilarious to post. We could just blur out her face. Yeah, but I feel like we were both open mouth laughing. Oh we were. I don't even remember we were laughing. I don't even remember we were laughing because we were telling her so they got married out of birds? Oh my god. Yes, A terrified of birds. They are one of my worst fears. And we were in the uh you were looking at we were looking at the bald eagle. Okay, Well, and it's this whole line. Oh no, I think it was an owl. Maybe I don't know. It wasn't an owl because I threw the might have been the bald eagle down. Okay, So we're in this whole line of like big, scary, terrifying birds. And to set the scene, there is one hundred percent of. Fence all the way around you, on top of you, all the way around like they cannot get to you. The bald eagle starts flapping its wings and I pushed a Lisa's husband into the. Fence and ran faster than I've ever run in my entire life. Fams a sacrifice, he was the sacrifice. But also, I was in a dress in hul and I ran so fast and she had just come from taking pictures and she's like, O, guys, did you do the bird walk? We were like, yeah, bro, we did the bird walk. That's for sure, did the bird walk. I gave your. Husband again, if you see me running, you better run. It was the best thing I think I've ever seen, because like that is still when he wasn't sure about me, I know he'd probably go in the car. Was like, we're never seeing them again. Oh no, no, he got in the car actually, and he was just like that was fun. He was just like, I don't I don't think he understood. I don't. I don't think he actually thought you were serious about your fear of birds. And just because he plopped his way, it was serious. The best thing because again she pushes my husband, which my husband's he's not a tall man. He's five seven. He's also very scrawny. She full on pushes this man like into the cage at the bird and my cousin and I are watching this all happen and we're losing it and she's full on running. I almost peed my pants, well, I almost peed my dress. It was hysterical to me because again, like I'm at the point of my life where I am very much like I want to make sour though I want to have all the chickens and less like, absolutely not, You're not getting chickens. And I'm like, first of all, it's not your house. I don't care. I will not come here if you get them. They need to be on the lower half of your property where I can't see that they exist. And if I can hear it, that's too close. Ah God, but bad enough. We can see all the ducks from the bedroom. Okay, so from my house you can see the river, like the river is our boundary line pretty much. We also have a pond. But this winter we have discovered, this being the first winter that we're here, we have discovered that the ducks really like to settle in the river right next to their house, right next to the house, like we can hear. I can hear them while I'm working through all the windows and stuff. Yeah, I we do. We need to get like cameras or something so we can get faces, because you have the most disgusted look on your face. Disgusting ducks are cute. No, the only the only bird. I don't really like or geese. So at camp this year, my mom and I were out on the paddle boards. I'm not shitting you. I paddle out further than my mom. I looked down to a loon swimming on. Oh that's a little bit scary, though. I flipped myself around and paddled so fast I was in tears. My mom was laughing at me like it was awful. Well, to be completely fair, too, Louns can be extremely territorial, like normally they're gonna leave you alone. But that would also terrify me, just because I have the slightest bit of the phobia of like deep waters. Oh, I'm terrified of water, and it's taken me. It's been eight years. This will be my ninth year going to camp. Yeah, and I still wear a life jacket. If we're going out further than the end of the dock. Well, and I don't like that's fair, Like I'm not doing me three years to even get in the water, Okay, and to out myself a little bit, because I feel like we're talking about a lot of your fears. I do also have some irrational fears, and they're gonna come off as super silly, because to me, they're really silly. But spiders, oh no, I'm I'm terrified as bad. That's not a weird one. I'm absolutely terrified of spiders. I don't know what it is about them. They just creep me. They creep me out. I also like I have again, we have camp that is right on the lake. I have seen too many dog spiders in my time to be okay, especially when you splash the water at them and they come at you. No, thank you, no thank you. I don't. I don't fuck with spiders. It's like it's like your fear of birds, like no, m m, but my irrational fear for me. I'm terrified of balloons. I know, I don't mm hmmm mm hmm. I do want you to know that I talked myself out of a bunch of ballooons. I would have fucking murdered you. But your kidd every minute of it. I hate that she loves. I would do anything for my daughter. Every time we go through the grocery line, she finds the balloons and she wants one, and I'm like, no, we're not. I guess it's different. Foil balloons don't like they don't scare me as much. However, regular old rubber balloons. No, thank you. I don't like the noise. I don't like the noise when you're m I don't want to preface this by saying I love you so much. What. I found a place what where you can order custom made foil balloons with people's fixes on them. And I thought about getting like all of the scary faces and putting them on and hiding them. I would fucking kill you. I'm about to cry now, don't do it? Going to because I realized, oh me, that was But I also would like to say, that's that's why I would start putting chickens in your house. Listen here, Linda. Yeah, at camp this last year, when we were closing up camp, there was a dead bird in the water and you picked it up and came up to you can suck it. You did that? You forgot about that, didn't you? Yeah? You did, didn't you? Yeah? Fair? I thought, fair? I do I do have a coming? Yeah? This this episode has gone oh off tangent. We're not talking about books anymore. But that's okay. We did more new. This is what happens when we haven't seen each other for two songs. I know. Yeah, so this is gonna be a longer episode, but that's okay. Yeah, because the last one was not long, I mean it was non existent. So no, the one before that, I mean, what was pretty decent. It was forty minutes long. Yeah, that's kind of why it's at a standstill, because it's it's been real but not real fun. So we at least have like Instagram, which we could post videos on Instagram as well. We just haven't. We also need to take a couple photos of ourselves. We need to take more photos of us going out eventually when we, you know, have the funds to do it. We need to make a book trip books. You didn't hear that husband's m Remember that time I said I wasn't gonna buy any books in twenty twenty six. That was why I had lofty goals. I didn't even make it a month. I know I would make it two weeks. No, So again, thank you everybody for listening. We hope you enjoyed this week's episode and sorry that we did not get one out this past week, but sickness sucks. Imagine the day we get all fifty, We're gonna both cry, it's gonna happen. Oh god, we're gonna balt on here. Oh golly. But share with your friends that live in different states. If they don't like books, so be it. Whatever. We don't just talk about books obviously, obviously, but share this with people that might enjoy our stupid, our type of stupid. I would love for this to get all fifty. That'd be cool. That would be cool, And I don't know, I guess that like for me, would be our first like goal of the podcast. But again, like I'm not trying to get like super hyped for it, but we're just here for the fun. Yeah. But I hadn't looked at it in a while, and Georgia was a new one, so that was pretty cool. That's really cool. But we will see you guys in next week's episode. I think next week we're actually gonna start kicking off February, So we're gonna wrap up January and go over our favorite book of the month, or at least I am. I don't know if Melissa has decided if she's going to choose one or not. We'll see. We're gonna go over our numbers, which I'm not really excited about. I'm hoping I have more than two at that point. It's fine. I know it's not fine for me. I'm already a book behind. But we're gonna talk about wrapping up January. We're gonna do a little bit of research this week to try and get you out like what is happening in book news in February. We will see you guys next week. Be sure to share this around. We need to get some followa's what is with the peace side? They can't see me, they should see me. Well. Thanks for listening, guys, Thanks bye, have fun. Bye.
